Edited by: Aramendel on 18/03/2007 22:07:12 agility = agility mod * mass * mass reduction * inertia reduction * spaceship command skill mod * evasive maneuvering skill mod
agility mod: ship class specific. Not visible ingame, but can be looked up in the battleclinic item database, for example.
mass: original mass before you fit weight reduction modules/rigs. You can also just use the mass after you fitted those, but then then scratch the mass reduction mod from the formula because the number you use has it already applied. If you want the agility with mwd/ab active be sure to add the mass addition of these mods to your mass (before the mass reduction, the AB/MWD penality gets reduced by that too).
mass/inertia reduction: for example, if you have -15% mass and -20% inertia this will be 0.85 and 0.8 mods. -1% inertia and -1% mass have exactly the same effect on ship agility. If you use multiple modules/rig don't forget that both stats have the stacking penality.
spaceship command skill mod & evasive maneuvering skill mod: 0.9 and 0.75 with max skills
What does this agility number mean exactly: I have no clue. It can still be used to compare different setups/ships vs each other, though. If you get the same number for a battleship and a cruisersetup both ships will have the same agility - for example, they will need the same time to acellerate from 0% to 100% speed.

perfect thanks... i was trying to work out if the agility reduction rigs are worth it, but it looks like mass reduction is better for my vaga
my vaga will be between 33 and 40% less agile than it was before the patch depending on those 3 speed mod lows

Have you noticed that at high speed and small orbit radius you get offtrack? That's what agility is for. Good agility means you can turn your ship's heading quicker, resulting in being able to follow a smaller orbit radius. Speed is good, mass reduction is also good (with Ab/MWD) but if you're too fast to get inside your optimal, you just lost all the benefits.

That much she knows, it's the "exactly" part you missed. How do the formulas look? etc. Btw we are not too far away from finding the acceleration formula which also includes agility. ---------------------------------------- A Guide to Scan Probing in Revelations |
