and it happened...
i was hunting pirates with my friend in belt.
then suddenly a guy Zoot jumped in a belt and destroyed my thorax. all my 1 month work went none. now i must start all over again.
that guy is a real hero,old man that killes newbies *applause*
if i could at least die in a big battle,but not like this. he laged me with drones and scrambled me. my thorax didnt want to warp.
how can i go sleep now??? im so damn angry and sad

The lesson is - it aint safe under 0.5 security.

could jsut be my opinion but after over a month your NOT a n00b. Also you had a thorax which is hardly a n00b ship. To make things worse you probably were not in n00b space. There was nothing that sounds anything like n00b ganking anywhere in your story.

Yeah I know the feeling I just lost my Thorax in 0.1 space Lagged by atsteroids and 3 NPC blod reavers (or whatnot. Damn ship wuddent warp, just sitting there taking hits.
Wasn¦t even equipped for fighting only minin gear on. Damn that new lagwarp.
word of advice though; allways use instawarp bookmarks to get away from trouble.

What happened to your friend?
2v1 with both of you equiped for fighting sounds fair to me. 
Its a typical 'all eggs in one basket' situation, had you stuck to 1.0 a little longer and mined for insurance, you would have been fine, common sense really.

Another N00b in a ship they can't even handle yet. There is a difference between flying a ship and using it properly.
First, You are in a Thorax, one of the most powerfulest cruisers on Eve. If I saw one I would attack it too.
Second, A hard price to learn about insurance. Whenever venturing out of 0.5 space it is highly advised to buy insurance for your ship. Also, if you can not insure your ship you don't need to be in it.
Hope you get over the loss. If not I have another Thorax laying around for sale.

Train drones to lvl 5 and Drones Interfacing to lvl 3 before going hunting bud. You got schooled. Lesson learned. Next time insure your cruisers.

i just told my friend to get out as quickly as possible. if you would lost it after 1 month of hard work without insurance i think you would feel the same.
regarding asteroid stuck,this is so stupid to me. you are 5 km away from asteroid and you get stuck...pathetic.

Ok - Mr. N00b!
I tell u how i lost my first cruiser: i attacked some other players in Pator. At that time there were no sentry guns there. Some police ships spawned near me, so i jumped through the gate i was camping (this was possible before whiners like u "changed" this game). At the jump-in i wanted to check my map but it was bugged. So i relogged fast and found myself surrounded by police ships. I was warp scrambled and my Moa had only some armor left. I was frustrated for 1-2 days but then i found out that pirates life is great and there is a lot to learn about this game. The most important thing i learned was: 1.0 systems arent good for me. U should learn that 0.1 systems arent good for u and u should have learned that flying into or to close to roids can be lethal. U should also learn that playing a game without any risk to loose anything is boring like playing a tabletop with ur 103 year old grandma. Unfortunally it is possible to play EVE without any risk of losing a single ISK - it is still possible, even with the new patch.

well i started eve one month ago...lets say emm it took me 3 weeks to get one. of course i bought a lot of other skills meanwhile. then it took me 2 weeks more to buy good equipment.

In response to those who are saying, "it took you a month to get a Thorax?" remember that not everybody plays Eve 24/7.
Tyrfing, in future make sure you have some back-up in low sec. Either have a mate on your shoulder, or train your drone skills and carry 8 heavy drones. The latter will make any cruiser think twice, and they should be more than enough for NPCs up to 40K. You learnt the hard way sure, but you will learn the lesson well. Good luck in working your Thorax back

Only a month playing is fairly new & it's likley that it's his first loss.
Tyrfing. It's always hard loosing a ship, I remember when I lost my Merlin in the first couple of weeks. Fortunalty I had some powerfull friends already when I joined the world of EVE & that particular pirate that attacked me lost his BS the very same day as payback.
The world of EVE is not much different to RL, It's not what you know but who you know! If you follow this simple rule you will survive.
Don't risk what you can't afford to loose.
Yes the grass is greener & the riches to be had are greater in low security space, but the pirates know this as well which is why they are there!

because I lost my ship yesterday, my 3rd MOA ;(
I was testing my new Microwarpdrive and as i warped in I got killed by a playerpirate.. "imsoawesome" or like this was his name now i lost near 2mil items and 6mil for my ship.. i was in a 0,4 system.. 7 cruiser missiles and i was history.. and if is not enough to lost the ship.. no.. he fired on my capsule too.. and i lost my life.. thanks god that i payed for a clone but i was not insured.. i despise all players like this pirate and i hope he will find the death

It is not a poor excuse too say you are lagged. People with a pentium 4 with 3 mghz a videocard of 128 mb and 1 ghz intern memomory or adsl have never lag.
But people with a pc under 1 ghz have lag if there are more then 5000 people are playing or if they use in same belt drones using. Don't give me that crap we people have not all a fat wallet too pay for a good pc.
You get over your thorax a lost an apoc already also 130 mil too the drain had only 8 days. Never trust a pirate if some warps in warp away directly you never know there intentions.
Pirates i never too be trusted. They live from the hard work from others. And they ue there skills only too benefit off there own egocentrist doing.

I appreciate those who do not play Eve 24/7. I work 12-14 hours a day, 5 days a week, and Eve is just not possible for me. On saturday and sunday, I can make nearly 2mil a day solo mining so I can understand how it can take someone (with a real life) a month to save up enough for a new cruiser. Anyone who's ever had a thorax knows it costs as much to kit it out as it does to buy it. Even with the highest insurance, you could still be losing 6mil on a mining setup.
My advice, join my corp, work with us, and we'll help make your eve experience a more prosperous one. Also... I'll sell you my thorax since my 'stower is my favorite ship anyway... Eve mail me.

It's part of the game
Insurance is cheap and lasts for 3 weeks.
Lessons learned adapt and move on. Use your frustration as a vehicle to improve and go kick that guys ass next time you see him. Oh yeah drone interfacing with 8 wasps will do some serious damage. Also on a thorax you need a bunch of cap relays to keep your shields and hardeners going

I lost my first ship (rifter) to concord after i went to emolgranlan (0.5) to hunt some npc's and take the ship for a spin. I was relatively new, having only played eve for less then a week.... so when i saw this "hobgoblin" pirate flying around me i decided to blast it apart! This was when drones and pirates had the same symbol... (crosshairs) .... Long story short im flying home in a pod getting ready to purchase my next rifter and NOT make that mistake again.
