Does anyone know if these skills improve the refining process in a station? Or is it suppose to be used with mobile refineries, which are not in-game yet.
I have read both the info in the skill and the DEV boards and they are conflicting. ______________________

Just copying my post from another board:
Hey folks,
Saw a post below in which someone indicated that training the [insert ore name here] processing skills would not yield any additional ore to an already 5/5 refiner.
So I decided to test it and find out.
Notes:
This was at a 50% Refining station and I have 5/5 Refining/Ref Eff
From a pile of 1014 or so Omber this is the refining report before my Omber Processing skill finished:
Received : Taken by Station : Lost to Waste
580 : 30 : 4 232 : 12 : 2 580 : 30 : 4
After the Omber Processing skill finished training I checked the report again and now had:
584 : 30 : 0 234 : 12 : 0 584 : 30 : 0
Simple conclusion - The ore processing skills eliminate the waste factor upon refining and add it back in to your received mineral pile. I raised an Ore processing skill from 1 -> 2 but saw no change in the mining report so for the moment it is pointless to raise ore processing skills beyond lvl 1.
Hope this helps others.

Here are my test result for plagioclase: Skills: ref=5 / ref eff=4 amount of ore refined: 33300
plag ore ref skill at lvl 0:
i get | station takes | waste 24085 | 964 | 551 48171 | 1928 | 1101 24085 | 964 | 551
plag ore ref skill at lvl 2:
i get | station takes | waste 24615 | 985 | 0 48230 | 1970 | 0 24615 | 985 | 0
So I and the station get a little bit more and the wastage goes down to zero. I'm happy. ----- Sable's Ammo Shop at Alentene 5, Moon 4, Duvolle Laboratories Factory. Ammo at affordable prices. |

I think the reason you would want to raise it higher then 1 is for those stations that are not a 50% station. For example if you refine at some 40% station or even a station that you have a bad rating at. I don't know I could be wrong.

You have not answered the mans question..
He asked if the new skills have any effect on refining in normal NPC Stations.
Please, can you give any information as to this?

Seems to me you have problems understanding plain english. My and Vax's data clearly indicates that it is profitable to have these new ore specific refining skills at least at level one as that will completely eliminate the 'wastage' part of the refining equation. So you get more minerals per refine and thus more ISK. ----- Sable's Ammo Shop at Alentene 5, Moon 4, Duvolle Laboratories Factory. Ammo at affordable prices. |

As far as I could see I do not think that station faction effects how well you refine.
If you look carefully at the reprocessing window when you are in a station it will list the "We Take" percentage. This is what is affected by station faction. Nothing to see here .... move along. |

I have to agree with Namarus on this one, if you read the description on the ore skills "for substandard reprocessing facilities" and imo, station reprocessing isnt substandard. I don't think these skills are doing anything atm, and are meant for mobile refinires. In my testing i have noticed no difference. with a 5/5 refiner, refined all ore types, then trained up the ore skills and tried the same thing, saw no difference. Its the faction standing thats changing thigs, not the ore skills.

Before 1403 patch, all stations had a 50% base refine, so you could get 99% with even 5/4 refine/eff skills.
Now, with most stations being 30%, you will see a major difference. ********** Everyone deserves to die. You go first.

If you have less than ref/ref.eff 5/4 and you know that you will be mining a specific type of ore for some time for refining then should get the specific processing skill because - yes it does reduce the amount of mineral lost to waste and training one or two of these specific skills from base to level 1 or 2 is still far quicker (though undeniably not cheaper) than training ref.eff. to level 4 or 5.
At a 50% station with R/RE 4/3 and Pyroxeres processing to level 2 my waste in Pyroxeres was non-existant whereas before having the processing skill it was significant enough to upset me.
