Personally, I quit assigning Fighters to people long ago - they seem to get them popped too much and/or don't get ordered to engage. But this change is stupid beyond belief.
I already have to leave POS shields to attack anyone. Doing so while the POS is under attack is pretty dangerous. Staying in a Safe Spot to deploy fighter is even more dangerous. So what are we supposed to do - assign fighters then spend all our time warping around? Obviously the person suggesting a cloak don't know Fighters - you cloak and they all go inert, wherever they are. I lost a good 140 million misclicking on my cloak long ago.
All this nerf does is prevent people from assigning fighters to others. If I've got to be out in open space, I'm gonna lock up targets myself instead of hoping my 3 assignees have their act together.

CrestOfToothpaste: I'd be willing to bet that the value of Fighters I risk constantly is more than the value of any ship you've ever flown. You should STFU about things you have no idea about...oh, wait...that would probably be all of the things in EVE. Most likely real life too.
When you have 2 billion isk worth of ship on the line everyday, and have to deal with crap like T1 frigs jamming you and 13k/s Battleships ramming you, I believe your position will change.
But as I said...it doesn't really hurt me - I don't assign fighters to anyone anymore. All this hurts is those lesser-skilled characters (like yourself), who we Carrier pilots were lending firepower to.
