I'm sure there's plenty of information on this thread to get what you're looking for.
Just a good combination of LAR, RT's, Mag stabs, eanm's, dc, mwd, point, injector, probably NB's, hopefully don't use rcu's or cpu's to fit them and definately no pdu's and bcu's are pointless obviously.
hopefully that helps.

New to a Mega and you don't know common EVE abreviations? |

Balthasar Moreq - yes, there is always the smarmy git on a forum who laughs at other people because they don't know all the answers! But let's have your suggestions, since I see you didn't post any! Perhaps you don't know how to fit out a Megathron! How's the Vexor doing these days?!

Well if you are unfamiliar with EVE abbreviations, it means you haven't been in the game that long and don't have many skill points. The Megathron is a very skill intensive battleship to use properly.

I think I'm getting around a 12.02 damage mod with two +5% damage mods and 3x SS magstabs on Neutron IIs, and that equates to about 1400 or so DPS with maxed skills and 5x Ogre IIs.
Still not enough to break a Domi tank before you run out of cap, or kill a Maelstrom or Rokh. Or Abaddon. Or Typhoon. Meh, not enough to kill just about anything that's flying these days battleship wise.

Vexor, my dear chap i fly a Bestower...
Anyway regarding abreviations, my point being that if you are skilled enough (read playing EVE long enough) to fly a Mega, you should know all the 'short-hand' for the various modules. If not, well cause i'm a good guy, here's a few:
EANM: Energised Adaptive Nano Membrane, Low slot module which increses your armours resists vs the 4 damage types.
MWD: Micro Warp Drive, Mid Slot item, increses you speed (more than an Afterburner/AFB)
DCU: Damage Control Unit, Low Slot module, in reases the resistance of your shields, armor and hull structure against all 4 damage types. Can only fit one at any time, and is not stacking nerf'ed.
Mag Stab: Magnetic Field Stabiliser, increases the RoF (rate of Fire) and damage of Hybrid weapons.
Web: Webber, Mid slot module, reduces the speed of a targeted ship.
Scram: Warp Scrambler, Mid Slot module, prevents targeted ship from warping away.

Actually, not knowing what the abbreviations of high-end weaponry shows that I am new to flying a Megathron - as stated in my original post! Why would I know them if I were a newbie in a ship that can't use advanced guns?
Solomunio Kzenig, thanks for spelling it out for me - I appreciate you taking the time.
Honestly, why can't people just remember that they didn't know all the answers, once upon a time?

@Xori
You won't be able to sustain two LARs for any length of time without any nos. I assume there is no PG left for the utility slot on that setup?
Also generally Fed Navy AM > Void, which makes T1 large blasters viable imo. I'm not sure whether there is a null equivalent.

Well the Mega is a gang ship (although if you're coming up against ships for which you do not need a tracking bonus the Hyperion is better), when combined with other Megas thats a whole lot of DPS being poured on the primary. Nos wins solo every time .

Unfortunately true, atm NOS is king in solo PvP. Personally i use either a Myrm or an Arbi for solo/small gang PvP, and both are set up as Nos boats.

EANM, DC, MAR, injector, MWD etc aren't high end weaponry abbreviations. Anyway, what do you want to use the ship for?

Ahhh, are you asking about the 'different' types of Hybrid guns? Like, oh i don't know, 425mm Prototype Gauss Gun vs a 425mm Carbide Railgun, or the difference between a Limeted Electron Blaster Cannon and a Regulated mega Electron Phase Cannon?

Jita - I didn't ask for those to be spelled out. Stop making assumptions! The posts I was responding to regarded guns, not Damage Control, etc. What would you suggest are the best guns for a Megathron, if budget were no limit (which, alas, it is?)
Solomunio Kzenig - thanks for your helpful comments - I shall bear all of that in mind. Appreciate it :)

Edited by: Royaldo on 30/07/2007 10:45:55 alot people on these forums go for a neutron blaster gank setup(t2 version) where they rely on others for repairs(offlined remote reppers or repper drones).
neutron t2 = neutron blaster cannon t2 ion t2 = ion blaster cannon t2 electron t2 = electron blaster cannon t2
not very hard if you think about it.

Originally by: Emsee A Damage control is an extremely useful mod and an absolute must on a Megathron. You should always fit one, considering Gallente have the most hull hit points. And fitting two damage implants means you sacrifice a turret CPU implant, which is a no go on a Blasterthron.
bets on your character I would tear your dc fitted mega apart lol....noob, its apparent you dont know too much about a blasterthron.
and oh yeah side note, if you go with faction mods which are not that expensive you can fit a full rack of neuts with a gank setup :)

Originally by: murder one Unless you're going to fit T2 neutrons on the thing, don't even bother with blasters. It's really easy to tank Neutron IIs, much less smaller guns. You'll just cap out and die with 2x LAR IIs.
Unless you have maxed skills and 7x Neutron IIs, you just won't be doing enough DPS to break a single BS tank. And even then you can find plenty of 'normal' T2 tanks that will take the 1100 or so DPS you can throw at them.

What good are these Solo PVP BlasterThron setups if you don't have the gun range to shoot them and they are Nos/Neut your ship. Your cap will run out at some point.

So why is noone using active hardeners?
I think I'm going to start flying a mega but alas don't have armour comp. skills so I want to avoid passive mods.
