Cos unless he was, i cant see how a thorax could take out a bs, even if it was only equiped with miners. It takes long enough killing a bs with another bs.

Don't underestimate the power of 8 heavy drones :) In close range with the right setup, the thorax is by far the best damage dealing cruiser around :P |

Aye. But the Megathron has the ability to launch 10 heavies. And a Thorax should die plenty fast that way.

Last night i destroyed 50 megathrons with my griffin, also i blew up a station and 62 armageddons, the cops wasted 492 dominixs that tried to attack me, i also have a 50 inch *****. (No screenshots though)

A Thorax using blasters and heavy drones could easily kill a Megathron IF the Mega had no MWD, no close-range guns, no heavy drones, and didn't log.
Of course anyone flying a battleship alone with no close-range defenses and no drones doesn't deserve to keep it...

I haven't tried getting pounded by a lone Thorax recently, but I doubt you would have to log off to survive.

Agree with Gariuys, I put my bet on neutron blasters and hugging the hapless ship very closely. Thorax most likely have various items to boost power, and a C5-L running on auto while he fight. |

ok this just in: I destroyed 23 more megathrons and 80 ravens with my VERY WELL SETUP thorax. Also 98 scorps and 243 dominixs died while trying to attack me. My pÚnis also grew some 150 inches, totalling a massive 200 inchs. Wow i rule.

If you are flying a Gallentian cruiser or BS and you don't have a full load of heavy drones and the skill to use them, you are cheating yourself out of nearly half the damage your ship can do.

- Heavy Drones
- FoF Cruise Missiles (assuming they get jammed, otherwise normal cruise or torps).
And you've got the person that could lose a Megathron to a single Thorax. Basically:

Dominix (all I got) with 4 1400 Howies, and 2x Counterbalanced weapons mounts = 90 DPS (EMP ammo)
Now for fun....
Dominix with 4 425 rails, 2x Mag Vortex = 145 dps. (again, Antimatter)
So a thorax with blasters can dang near match the damage of a non minmatar BS with 1400's. (no ship bonuses) And I don't expect those 1400's to hit at the 4km range the rax will be flying at.
So yes, a rax can do that kind of damage, just gotta be a little messed up to try it.

It's not a question of can the Thorax do the damage, not for me at least. It's a question of whether or not the bship pilot was catatonic or completely unskilled to allow it to happen.
5 Blasters running, the Thorax has no missile defense. Even a Megathron can pull 2 launchers. 2 cruise/torps + Heavy Drones should make the Thorax run. The bship pilot had to be completely comatose.

Well, if you want stats, ive made a great sheet that finally answers all your questions about what gun is more powerful.
Yes, a Light Neutron Blaster I can almost deal as much damage as a Dual 250mm Railgun I, as long as you are within range :)

You know. I thought this story sounded familiar. Half this story is true im afread. The other half is chest puffing garbage.
I was in y-mp soloing the nice spawns out there in my megathron, had been out there for about 4 hours.
Was in a 6 jugg 2 underlord spawn when Roba warps in, and yes he was in a thorax. Right as i killed the second jugg, he locks on and opens fire. So now i've got 4 juggs, two underlords and this little thorax with blasters chewin on me. Yes i had wasps but they were in the middle of the spawn killing themselves for me, love drones now, ****in awesome AI they have.
Don't know who scrambled me but I lost that fight and Roba got the kill. No big loss, only had crap guns and gear on it, hunting solo out in .0's you can expect to get blasted eventualy. And to my eternal shame i got podded by freakin blasters. He got away before the juggs and underlords could smoke him.
A freind of mine chased Roba around y-mp for about 10 mins before Roba ran off into Kari nice and safe. Lets just say my not so smart friend did infact try to kill Roba, Kari is .6 space.
I found Roba repairing outside the station in Esa and hopped in one of my thoraxs full of wasps, decided what the hell I have a 4.5 sec rating, i'll suicide the backstabing coward. That was fun, gate guns made short work out of 8 wasps.

HAHA! I can tell you his "super secret" setup. Now listen carefully all you lamers.
First, wait til you see a lone BS hunting .0 spawns. After the BS has taken a beating feel free to lock him and help the spawn out a bit. NPC's need love too.
His setup was 6 juggs and two underlords. 
Was great fun though, haven't had that much fun in a long time. As for Roba and his uber thorax, whateva.
Anyway, have fun with the story. Megathron was insured and the crap guns are back on, see ya in y-mp.

If your setup was so great you wouldnt be running back to safe space right after you podded my friend. Coming after us? What you gonna do? As far as I am concerned you never did pod any of my friends. The NPC Pirates and Concord did the job. For you to lay claim of podding them shows nothing more then lack of skills and a big mouth.

Sounds like you were having some good sport out there Lans.
Shame 6 jugg 2 underlord spawn and that fearsome secret receipe thorax got the better of you out there but no real harm done by the sounds of it.
A few ships lost and a great story to tell your corp mates.
Kudos for coming forward to set the story straight, I presume the original poster did not believe you would, and indeed hoped you would not, given there was a real story to tell.
Secret reciepe Thorax, fabulous, not laughed so hard in a long time.
Remember people when you are fighting that big old spawn there might well be a secret reciepe thorax sneaking about ready to stab you in the back and take the credit on these forums.

Okay, now we have yet another alt posting, but still no Roba.
Have we hurt your pride so much that now you have to post under yet another alt? I've been in y-mp npc hunting for days after Roba's single handed defeating me in my megathron with his "secret bs killing" thorax.

I know Roba very well and he would not have attacked had he not been fired on first. I can see it now megathron in 0.0 sees a thorax , thinks easy pickens. What you did not count on is that Roba is a veteran has been playing this game since it started. Was a big mistake on Lansfear part. Then Lansfear is mad over losing the Thorax gets corp members to help hunt roba and they all get killed over there ignorance. Paul evidently your corp has very little rules on attacking others. Remember a beginner or a middle of the road pilot is no match for a veteran. Lansfear your arrogance is going to get you killed again why not just tell the truth and admit you were bested. Lastly I can say Roba has not even posted here once as he has no wants to beat his chest he is actually a humble person where as some of his friends decided to bring this unprovoked attack to light he has declined to post as not wanting to stir the pot. I had to post when I saw the bovine ***** spewed forth by you. Jash Hit the nail on the head perfectly.

I was in y-mp soloing the nice spawns out there in my megathron, had been out there for about 4 hours.
Was in a 6 jugg 2 underlord spawn when Roba warps in, and yes he was in a thorax. Right as i killed the second jugg, he locks on and opens fire. So now i've got 4 juggs, two underlords and this little thorax with blasters chewin on me. Yes i had wasps but they were in the middle of the spawn killing themselves for me, love drones now, ****in awesome AI they have.
Don't know who scrambled me but I lost that fight and Roba got the kill. No big loss, only had crap guns and gear on it, hunting solo out in .0's you can expect to get blasted eventualy. And to my eternal shame i got podded by freakin blasters. He got away before the juggs and underlords could smoke him.
A freind of mine chased Roba around y-mp for about 10 mins before Roba ran off into Kari nice and safe. Lets just say my not so smart friend did infact try to kill Roba, Kari is .6 space.
I found Roba repairing outside the station in Esa and hopped in one of my thoraxs full of wasps, decided what the hell I have a 4.5 sec rating, i'll suicide the backstabing coward. That was fun, gate guns made short work out of 8 wasps.

First, wait til you see a lone BS hunting .0 spawns. After the BS has taken a beating feel free to lock him and help the spawn out a bit. NPC's need love too.
His setup was 6 juggs and two underlords.
Was great fun though, haven't had that much fun in a long time. As for Roba and his uber thorax, whateva.

Winter I actually respect you as i have read many of your posts on these forums , where as Lansfear I have 0 respect for as he cant admit a thorax took out his megathron after he fired first on Roba. I reposted the oh I got killed but only because [insert favorite excuse here]. Then trys to say well it was insured blah blah and roba sucks. Bottom line like I said before Roba and his friends are not agressive but will protect themselfs when fired on first.

One thing I noticed about this story. It says the thorax came in and destroyed this battleship and when the pilots mates decided to undock and try to engage this thorax but were promptly destroyed by good ole concord.
So what was concord doing when this thorax was destroying the battlship? Eating coffee and doughnuts?

I dont know about u but I would think that by having either u or Roba actually log in to the game would increase the chanses of this war declaration even turn into something remotly close to interesting.
