The name states it: Corporation, Alliance and Organization Discussions and quotes;"This forum is for the discussion of ingame politics, conflicts, and other matters regarding player corporations, alliances and organizations in EVE. News and press releases may also be posted here for information and/or discussion.". It states that you can but what is the reason for the other forum then? Corporations and Alliances Summit quotes;"This is the corporation and alliance version of the Intergalactic Summit. All interaction on this forum is in-character and between corporations or alliances, not individual characters.". I would liek to think that press releases are to be done here and discussion/rumours on the other forums. You forum *****s are probably going to slaughter me but I will stand my ground!!! Posted - 2007.03.20 23:12:00 - [6] i think your right in the fact that it doesnt say in the description that CAS is a forum for roleplayers, but it seems to be used for that quite a lot. perhaps people post their announcements here to get them seen by the majority of "major players" (alliance leaders and such), as these announcements often require people to reset standings etc. i dont really know tbh... ------------

As a result, the threads in there tend to suck, which is why ironically enough the intergalactic summit is frequently used by most of the corporations that identify themselves as roleplaying corps for corp/alliance announcements when they want a reaction from the roleplaying community. Maybe removing the ic-only restriction would be a good idea, then that forum could be used for announcements while this one could be used for miscellaneous discussion. -----

It's heavily moderated, so anything that's even vaguely out-of-character is snipped and/or locked. That deters people from posting there because they have to be careful what they say, and the responders have to be equally careful, and its just annoying TBH. It may seem like it would be easy to stay in-character, but the moderators are very strict and it may surprise how many subtle/inane comments are defined as out-of-character (OOC). Read some of the posts, specifically the locked ones, and you will get an idea. Also, if the post is too OOC the mods move it into COAD. All of that has just made it much simpler and easier to post in COAD to begin with. A few corps and alliances do prefer to post in CAS since the heavy moderation keeps the flamers slightly at bay, but not many. Some examples: any reference to logoffski is generally censored unless you call it "intentional control system termination" or something to that affect. Also, calling anyone an alt is censored and you are supposed to call them "special friends" or similar. Referring to node crashes is also frowned upon. Basically anything that references EVE as a game, as opposed to RL, is snipped. ----------------------------------------------------
