I've been mining in .7 belts and I loot the wrecks from the NPC pirates I shoot down. However, is there any sort of bounty I can collect from killing these critters? If so, how do I go about collecting it?

When you target an NPC pirate, you can see the bounty available on them by either doing a "Show Info" or by simply looking in the "Selected Item" box on your screen. In 0.7 belts, you're probably going to be finding pirates worth anywhere from 3k to 10k each. In general, the higher the bounty, the tougher the ship.
When you kill one, the bounty money is automatically deposited into your wallet. You don't need to go anywhere to collect it.

Note that all the bad guys in your missions also have bounties on them. In fact in many missions you're going to make far more cash from destroying the pirates than you get as a reward for doing the mission. Particularly when you start doing Lvl-II and Lvl-III missions. They're paying you 260K to do the mission but you may have a half dozen or more pirates in the mission each worth over 60K themselves, not to mention all of the smaller 3-20k targets escorting them. - Damionte |

Probably more of a mission forum issue, but I did Human Cattle 5/5 (level 2) last night and go not bounties except for the sentry guns in the 2nd room. No bounties on the rats .

.. but they do drop tags which can be sold to the navies of factions that hate them (e.g. you can sell Caldari tags to the Gallente navy).

Do you happen to know which tags sell to which factions? Specificly Guristas? I have lots of them.

Items in this category can be sold to pirates or the opposing faction - see NPC market tab on that page. "Criminal" tags don't have buy orders, but I think you can turn them in to some agents and there is a player market for them.
