Hey guys, would anyone like it if they did a seperate server for europe, and one for america ? I myself would rather play with just europeans.

At first I figured that this was going to be another whine thread about the servers being down
Well, I can't say I dislike playing on a server with other people. However this might become nececarry in the future (?) if EVE keeps growing. Either way, I wouldn't mind personally.

Think of how boring it would be if you didn't have a big international base of players to interact with, though. There'd be dead periods where hardly anyone was on, whereas now we can expect to get a ton of euros on at time x, and a bunch of north americans on at time y, etc.
One of the neat parts about Dark Age of Camelot was how while we'd be at work or at school in NA, the rest of the world was logging on to undo the work we'd done the previous night. And we could always look forward to going home and mopping up the stragglers and taking back what was captured. It actually made the game that much more interesting.

yes thatis whati thought, would also be good to only allow one account per person also, this metagaming lark takes the micheal, whoever has most computers and IRL cash does better in game, not really fair.

Horrible idea.
It would completely break eve in so many levels. (for example introduce alarm clock pos attacks (current eve server is populated 23/7, think what happens if theres just players from one timezone?)

Terrible idea!
The server would be empty for long stretches as sleepy Europeans snore in bed. How can you have an effective corp, that protects its assets 12-16 hours a day, and not 23 like is possible now?
Half of the people I speak to from corp, etc, are not europeans.
A seperate server would be a weight around the games neck, slowly dragging it to its death. If this ever happened, my accounts would be deleted

People earn money so they can do things in life, if they want 17 Eve accounts then thats fine. I dont see why people complain about it, if you only have one account and enjoy eve then why worry about other people?

How would you enforce this?
Oh yeah, you couldnt. And dont even suggest allowing one account per credit card because it wouldnt work (theres plenty of credit cards, game time crads), and this would screw up players who play on someone others CC (families, friends)

Since it would break Eve to have more than one shard, only one part of the world would be able to play. -
If you go into your options menu, there's a difficulty slider. Put that all the way over to the easiest setting and you'll be fine. |

That is unavoidable, some people are always going to have more money to spend on better connections/better computers or invest more time into the game than other people. And considering so many people have multiple accounts, I don't see CCP cutting a big portion of its revenue just in some half-hearted gesture to even the playing field.
As for the idea, no. There is nothing I hate more in MMOGs than segregation based on where you live. The joys of a MMOG is to meet people from around the world and play games with them, I can see no good reason why it would be good to cut out a huge chunk of them.
Also you're here bringing up the multi-sharding issue yet again. I don't know why so many people want this 'feature'. One of the greatest parts of EVE is that there is only one server, everyone playing affects everyone else, and your reputation follows you whereever you go. No simply re-rolling on another server after you've irritated everyone else.
