I have three accounts... have I got to buy Eve-Voice for all three of them?
Do I have to pay three times for my ONE voice to be heard in three different corp/alliance chats? |

Right now, yes, but right now Vivox has several limitations that will have to be removed...

you pay for 3 different accounts so why should you not pay for the voice comms for all 3
everyone else who wants to use the vivix will have to for each of their accounts
Teamspeak and ventrilo is much cheaper and will most likely function better as everyone will not use vivox but everyone can use TS and vent.

EVE Voice is actually supposed to be a one fee for all access type thing (That fee might even end up applying to other Vivox-enabled games some day).
My guess is everyone is on the trial until the account related issues are fixed and an actual purchase web page is added.

omfg! You're right! CCP is trying to make money from us. Oh noes! I thought they operated the servers as a public service. This is outrageous. You'll be telling me that their employees are being paid above minimum wage next. Shocking.

You are correct. I will pay for it and work out the problems for EVE and CCP. You will find that its ok to change.

Ventrilo and teamspeak cost money. Servers don't grow on trees and neither does bandwidth. It's just paid for by the ceo instead of spread out between the members. It can't make the game more unstable. It isn't even on the same servers. It's better in some ways and worse in some ways. For one thing unlike with teamspeak or ventrilo you can see who is talking.

Er - well..
So I'm able to mine on one account, tank on another and haul alliance stuff on the third with my Noob char... so ok - different cash has to be paid to allow enough characters to do this in game.
However - - - whenever I speak, as far as I know I only am able to say one thing at a time so if i'm paying to speak at different times relevant to these accounts, then I am actually making the other two voice channels redundant just by using one... yet I'm still supposed to pay for that?
Thnx to redwolf btw for noticing the obvious and having the nous to say it.
Besides... from what I gather I will also have listen to anyone who wants to Smack (now without the conscious delay of typing) in any open channel on that account whether I want to or not, this while I'm trying to haul stuff (as a neutral) through war infested zones where my main would be ganked.
Hmm...
I'm not so sure...

What would you be doing that you need voice ops for all three accounts? I was under the impression that alts were just for spies, researchers, and war exploits anyway.

Doesn't work for my play style at all. Has nothing to do with the cost.
I usually have several channels open all the time. I have friends that are in my corp. I have friends that are not in the corp. I have friends that have nothing to do with what I am doing in game currently.
We are always on ts. Tell ya the truth I have alot of friends on ts that have never played eve.
It's interesting. It looks like a very good idea on paper to me and in theory. In practice it just doesn't work for me.
I would however like to say being required (from what i seen) to use the middle mouse button sucks least let a person choose which hot key works for their setup.

I was hoping that the EVE community is more defined by wise and ADULT people.
The last info I had is that EVE voice will cost $10 a year? Didn't check the actual infos.
So ... what are we talking about: frakking $0,83 per months added.
If that is true and the people start threads about EVE voice is crap because we have to pay I just can recommend: GET A JOB!

Someone who's able to pay for three accounts must be able to pay for EVE voice for three accounts.

A whole concept like EVE is: TO GET MONEY!
To pay a company, to pay salaries, to get rich probably, to grow, to rule ... whatever.
The voice system is a concept, a cool and must have one for most of us ... a logical dev result ... every new feature is made for getting and earning money.
To keep the community addicted and excited to the game. A simple and old economy concept.
You get something from others working out for you. You have to pay for it. Simple!!!
So ... to those who are not able to understand what's going on here: leave EVE and play with mum's garbage schedules and finish school, get a job and don't waste our time with lame postings.

This is true I have the money to pay for Eve Voice on all my accounts. However why pay multiple times for Eve Voice when I can contribute a couple of pounds to my corp for a Teamspeak server which I can use regardless of what account I am currently using.
I have different accounts with characters from different races so I log in whichever one I decide to fly for that gang op. So if I buy Eve voice for my Amarr character but decide to take my Huginn out today I won't have access to it.
However I will have access always when using TS. Its not about the cost its about the functionality of it when combined with multiple account users when TS/Vent would serve better.
Eve voice is not a bad thing its just only useful to some and not all, hence why its a good idea subscription fees have not been raised because of it.

you can run more than one voice program at once you know, i have on occasion had 2 TS's and 2 vents open at the same time and also been playing on CS which has built in voice coms..... So what is the problem? its not like you have to exclusively use ingame voice, you can use that and TS?Vent you just have to remember which button is for which!!!
