What's the best ship for exploration?
Could it be the Cheetah? - It's the covert ops ship with the biggest cargo bay. Two Gravity Capacitor Upgrades could be installed.
HOWEVER, would another ship be more cool? Would a Vagabond work?
Any suggestions for loadouts?
All opinions appreciated!

While I do like my Cheetah it would be a huge overstatement to call it the best looking covert ops. My buzzard looks much better (both a better starting hull and better t2 textures).

I thought archeology involved a sort of "expedition mission", that might somehow involve hacking?
(PS - I haven't been playing this game for very long!)

Covops frig + exploration complex = dead covops frig.
Use a combat ship to do the "mission" after you've scanned down the complex. Preferably a command ship or BS.

I agree with Hoshi on the Buzzard!! But as regards to whether its an exploration ship, nope, in my view a good exploration ship would be a an Interdictor. Flycatcher maybe.
