Is there a way to initiate warp into the direction the ship is facing without setup a destination? For situation when any place in space is better than the present :)

Nope, but... if it's a system you pass through frequently: Open your People and Places. Warp to a Star Gate, or Belt, or Planet and multiple times mid-warp create bookmarks. Next time something comes up, warp to and between your safe-spot bookmarks. That's about the best you go do.
Just clicking the warp button may make getaways a bit too easy since you'd be 100% aligned no matter what.

Besides - if you just warp off in any direction, who knows what you might run into, suns, stars, moons, planets, asteroids, etc. Cheers Baka ______________________ Have a Skill in training every second of every day and never let your bank balance sink below your skill points. |

When you warp you are bending space time thus the reason why you can fly 'through' objects. This is all according to the back-story from what I have been told.

Yeah and in the game, I've seen my ship go through planets on multiple occasions
Let's assume that we can't warp without a destination because the computer needs a destination to plot a warp space folding field

We seem to do that anyway with little harm resulting.
