Hi, I am not normally one to whine, but after the figured in drop occured, I went from 3 level 3 agents, all in a corporation that loves me, two of which I have done many missions for (150+ for one, hi 40's low 50's for the other) and after the faction drop goes in, I have one left. I just did a mission for one of them this morning...
To say I am dismayed doesnt even come close. I also note that my Minmatar republic has gone down .13 from its previous rating, with no chances offered to regain (or even hold even) offered yet.
I understand that you wanted to make the playing field more even, but holy cow ; you just made the last month of my playing this game go away, I cant help but ot feel discouraged.
So, in the spirit of this section of the forums, I am going to suggest solutions.
1) Instead of doing a blanket across the board faction decrease, how about making it so that if you do a few missions for your agent, the faction drop doesnt happen that week. The fact that your faction drops even though you are doing missions for the guy is a bitter pill.
2) Increase the occurences of missions that raise your corporate/empire factions, or seriously decrease the hit you do to those factions. I worled for two months to get my Minmatar Republic faction up, anf it is going to be a zero before I get a mission to raise it 0.1... Doesnt seem fair (end whine).
3) And this is more of an agent mission feedback, please stop having level 1 agents send folks on 13 - 20 jump missions into 0.4 and less space for a measely 15K ISK, it isnt even funny, ore remotely worth it.
Somethings to think about...

Exactly, this makes no sense to me either. Why would standings drop even when you actively work for a faction?

I hear that

A bitter pill or a knife in the back? In this last week alone I lost more sec than I gained in the last few weeks. In the last week I have gained none at all even though I have slaved for my agent up to 12 hours a day.

We do need a fix here and we need it bad. I would rather that every mission increase it a little, or that missions would happen more requently that could increase your faction ratings.

It's even worse when you then get a 2500 isk reward or something for doing it in 25 minutes!
Personally I think that CCP should at the very least stop taking away sec from factions you are activly doing missions for. It makes no sense at all to me why an faction who is pleased with my work suddenly decides at the end of the week to "hate" me a little. --Missa New Siggy to Come Soon(tm) |

This is screwed up, plain and simple. One of our corp did agent missions with an agent for a whole day yesterday. When the drop hit, he couldn't do missions for that same agent.
This needs to be fixed, you can't raise rating faster then the lose unless you spend 30-40 hours a week on boring missions.
... you will see more and more marketing which in turn will bring you more players to torture. |

Personally I think its worse still when you can't decline the odd missions you don't want to do as they really are a waste of 'randomly generated' time.
If you had a bad offer in real life you would ask your agent what other missions they have, or take your pick from one of many.
Forcing someone to HAVE to accept the mission or face a massive loss just for declining it was something I thought you guys took away months back because it didn't go down well then, and I am pretty sure it doesn't really go down well now.
If you want them to take a faction hit for not taking a mission, then offer them more then one at a time - choice of best of 5 missions or something.
Presenting one, and giving such a massive decrease for not taking it isn't good.
Please also fix the concord agent transfers. None of us can use anything other then the agents you gave us as replacements. The corp standing isn't high enough to move to another agent should we want to try another.

Yes please! I vote for no faction loss if you do a few missions. How about letting us have some fun again CCP? I'd like to be able to take a break now and then from missions and go out and do something else without fear of losing my agents. The way things are now I can't even keep my agents happy doing missions ALL the time!

Edited by: Lucas Bowman on 22/12/2003 20:16:55 I agree. I've been forced to give up mining to pursue agents now in hopes of landing a tech 2 print by trying to get qualifying skills & items (though don't know how I'm gonna build items with rare ore so hard to get to or buy). I've been doing agents missions solid since patch and was rewarded this morning with a drop in status. Now I'm concerned over what's gonna happen to my status once I have to get back to mining. So much for once your friend, always your friend.
Hmm, also want to point out that I am losing rating faster than I can make it. I was .6 before patch, .3 after patch, and now .2 after a full week of nothing but agent missions. Somebody's math needs checking!

ya i do agree, i had to go do some missions that were totally worthless to me, and i got like nothing for the reward almost... just some isk for doing it in 25min
and i lost quite a bit in my view in standings/faction because i havent had not 1 important mission since i started.. and i also dont have not even 1 skill from my agents... the agent corp is Perkone support Idea: QuickInfo an alternative to ShowInfo

I feel your pain... I am also working for Perkone with a level 3 agent but, apart from the first mission where I got a skillpack, I havent had one since. Neither have I had an important mission. Although overall I do like the changes to the standing system, I do miss the 'complex' relationships between the entities. Why for example does working for Ishukone Watch not increase your standing with Ishokune and vice versa?

There should be a timeout, if you don't work for any agents for a corp for say... 2 weeks to a month, then your standing can drop.

I asked a GM about this in a petition I had and he told me that you no longer had to accept missions; if you just ignored it you would not take the faction standing hit. That was yesterday...
Well I guess today is a different day because today as I began to run agent missions I got this nifty little warning that ignoring missions would result in the loss of standing.
WHISKEY TANGO FOXTROT, OVER.
This wouldn't be so bad a thing IF I wanted to travel half way across the empire ( everytime I got a mission I did not like ) just to run another three agent missions to cover the loss I am about to take by declining a mission from another agent from the same company, but come on! This is ridiculous!
I took a bigger hit to my standing by ignoring a mission than I received in 2 missions! In three hours of game play I couldn't even recover the points I lost from the scheduled "decay" of standing points.
(and to all those that would say "get a better agent"....I can't. the scheduled "decay" has put those out of my reach. The level 3s I was working yesterday won't even talk to me today).
I have said this before and I will say it again: This game is becoming more and more like a job except at a JOB I get paid, not the other way around...

That's the main reason I left Earth and Beyond. Tho there once you made it to a certin level. The only thing you could do was missions to get the levels to get higher. I got board with the UBERS there ( And Yes I was an UBER too ) When you have to work on a game that you pay to play, it isn't fun anymore. I bet the DEV's don't even read this forum anyway. Never see any of them take the time to write in any of open topics. Address any of the problems. Give people hope that POST PATCH things will get better. Well CCP??? Anything??? Hellooooooo??? Calling CCP???

I see no increase Freya Jones, but the problem appears to be the same one. I would be intested to know if you could tell the standing transactions. You open your own character sheet, and then 'liked by' and righclick to get that one to show. I can see a lot of small increases for my agent. But it does not appear on the standing for the agent. Oddly enough I do get a lot when I try a lvl 2 guy, both for corp and he 'personally' if you could say that for a NPC. ;)
Regardless, using one other agent that the regular might be a workaround, even a timeconsuming and in my case less profitable one.

Looks like the player that does not play much like myself (2 hours a day, 3 - 4 days a week) is pretty much screwed.
Any more updates on this problem? It must be affecting a lot of players...

well, i hope they started tweaking soon enough, i would expect to get at least half that decay that we had... and them doing 2.5% or so to test out for 1 week and see how people like that...
but really you could find out how much the avg player who doesnt have too much time does and see if that % will be more of a hit then that person could recover from... support Idea: QuickInfo an alternative to ShowInfo
