Is this a joke?
I cant target anything. The dire spawns are permajamming me!
And I mean perma.
8 minutes of being permanently jammed, its not possible with a battleship to target the damned warp scramblers. My tank can hold but what am I supposed to do? Just sit here forever?
It takes 20-25 seconds to lock the dire infiltrators that are scrambling me, im jammed once every 5 or 6 seconds by the nullifiers, I can't destroy anything, hell even my drones cant be used since they just orbit me and I cant tell them to kill anything >:(

I've done this mission 4 times post patch and have yet to be perma jammed. Yes the jamming is a pain but rarely does it stack over each other and keep you jammed for 5-10 minutes. I nnoticed that the cruisers and the frigs are the ones most responsible for jamming.

yeah i accidently aggressed the entire stage, so I've got a lot of dire cruisers and 4 or 5 pith eliminators jamming me

Lock on a cruiser instead of trying to lock on a frigate in between jamming cycles. fire on the cruiser, your drones will aggress and finish off the cruiser after you're jammed again. Hopefully the drones move on to some of those frigs afterwards. Pick a closer orbiting cruiser for the best chance at this.

At least your tank is holding.
Seriously, no friend can come and help? If you've got the whole stage aggrod, it's no risk to the support. You just need someone to come in and pop the jammers.
Even someone in local could help with that.
Good luck though. Even you must be getting a chuckle by posting this while sitting there in the mission. I find it slightly amusing. GL. __________

I have experienced the same problem with The Assault, and particularly in Stage 2. Where, before, you could get a few jamming cycles then nothing for a few cycles where you could target and kill, you now get permanently jammed by the 3 faction cruisers in that stage (Guristas). Fitting ECCM never worked for me before when facing Guristas and their damnable jamming, plus it might mess up your tank in a bad way. Launching drones runs the risk of having them aggro on the rest of the stage (if you managed to split the groups up) and that will kill your drones, then get it all on you.
As for bringing along support, that option is not always acceptable to many players. There's a large group out there that enjoy playing EVE in a solo manner. Or atleast, did enjoy it. With the recent changes made by CCP to kick that ability out from underneith them/us, things are looking grim if more missions have gotten insane changes.

I had the same problem, took me over 15 minutes just to kill the cruisers, serious waste of time this mission is now, unless you have some support ... :P

Suggestion: fit one of those low-slot ECCM, like +48% strength from those is enough to not get jammed all to often in my experience of gurista-missions.

what system you stuck in when this happens? If I'm close by, more than happy to pop in and lob off the ECM ships for you (seeing as they are all chewing on your shield I can wade in, in whatever I'm in at the time)

yeah it was funny :)
eventually one of the scramblers stopped for a bit (they have a 95% chance I think) and I managed to warp out. Warped back in and only a few aggressed me this time. I killed those cruisers (still jammed about 75% of the time), then moved onto the rest.
Hint to others: Do not aggress everything

Edited by: Venkul Mul on 23/03/2007 20:09:08 It seem it is a common problem in this mission: the Serpentis version sendor damper you to nothing.
As usual one of the simplest solution is: use missiles: FOF.
Why in PvE missiles always give an edge? (whine, whine, I know, but it is true)

Well i got permajamed for almost half hour before managet to kill those damn jaming cruisers, mainly because of drones, because i was able fire like 3 salvos in 5 minutes. I did create petition for it, because getting permajamed for almost half hour is not realy fun, its ridiculous.

I thought FoFs couldn't hit out of lock range? If you can only lock to 5 km they don't do much good.

agreed, the jamming in the second stage is insane, I counted 8 consecutive cycles jammed on several occasions, couldn't sic drones on the HACs on the few times I could get lock, because they would get agressed and popped from over 160 km away.
I managed to warp out and fit a low slot eccm (so as not to ruin my tank)...6-7 consecutive cycles still happened more often than I would have liked, although there were a few (very few) more missed cycles.
This mission is on my avoid list until I hear it's lightened up a bit..it's not that I can't do it (I finally finished it) it's just not worth the time it takes.
And to those saying FoF missiles..the tanks on these rats are pretty nasty, and take relatively concentrated fire (which FoFs aren't that good at providing) to break.
I get the feeling that CCP wanted to design the missions to be more PvP-like, with rats using ecm, etc. The problem is, in PvP, if you're faced with the type of odds you see in a mission...you don't fight, you run like hell. The idea is a good one...I just think the balance needs a bit more tweaking. I'm just an Alt....but my main doesn't have a sig either.

If elfarto is correct, the NPC jamming is a flat chance, not a Jam strength vs sensor strength thingy. So fitting ECCM would not change anything... I think CCP really screwed up those NPC EW effects. They would be fine and make PvE more like PvP in theory I guess, but as long as NPCs have 10 ships doing 50 DPS each instead of one doing 500, NPC EW will be terribly overpowered due to the sheer number of EW sources. So please either tone it back down, or finally adjust the number of NPC ships in favor of fewer but stronger ones. --------- There is no 'n' in turret There is no 'r' in faction There is no 'a' in Kestrel

They have no need to lock. In another thread I have read that the range of FOF isn't reduced by warp stabilizers. They work when totally blinded by ECM, so I don't think the range is reduced. And more important for a Gallente, the FOF auto-locking on someting, anything, active the drones in attack, so launching the FOF put the drones to work.

ECCM dont help against NPCs (atleast it didnt used to). All NPCs have a fixed % chance of jamming, it does not matter what ship you have or how you have equipped it.

i did respond to an emergency call from a pilot who was doing that mission. even if i concider myself as an tough solo PvE pilot, it was a challenge to get the second room done. it wasnt very hard to tank, it was just annoying because off the jamming. well, i guess the only solution is to do this mission with more than one person, this way npc spreads jamming and u can take them out. imho.

My suggestion = low-slot ECCM aint enough for this mission I realised after trying it yesterday =P, 2 low-slot-ECCM(gives like 44 in signal-strength) + warping out once to avoid the 100% aggro helped though, so I do think those modules work against NPC, keeping 1 in the ordinary gurista-missions makes jamming very rare compared to happening 2-3 times every mission that much I know from experience, unless I have been VERY lucky.(used it on a drake, a raven might not need it on ordinary missions)

And btw, this damn mission is a drone-killer, the drones draws indipendent aggro = restricted to drone, atleast within 80km(takes a while so you grow confident before the hammers go "POP" lol, the light drones is atleast quick enough to run back to safety =P no such luck with hammer II¦s)
