Pew Pew is also making into other games
its even referenced alot in WoW in relation to warlocks and hunters (or any char that has an overpowered ranged attack)
ie, "that godlock is running around Pew Pew'ing everyone"
or
"just roll a hunter and Pew Pew more you noob"
Pew Pew in wow generaly has a negative conetation in the sense that it references easy to play characters with "i win" buttons.

Actually, at the time "pew pew" was initially referenced, the gankageddon was the premier PvP ship in the game. -Wrayeth "Look, pa! I just contributed absolutely nothing to this thread!"

LazeryAttackPewPew. It was changed to Sword Attack Klang Klang by a GM later as that guild is on a RP server (Earthen Ring) and ehm.. the GM found the later name more suitable.
Pew pew been used forever and ever. Long before EvE and WoW.
Back on track tho; I like the sound of the medium beam lasers. Brrzt brrzt brrzt. Brrzt brrzt brrzt.

RATATA = dual 180mm 2 boom = light missile BOOM = ship exploding
To bad it was just a shuttle

Originally by: Jackal79 There was a post earlier suggesting that CCP make the lasers sound like the beam lasers in freespace 2. That'd be awesome.
OH man, now that would be severely awesome. For those that don't know, the beam cannons in FS2 sounded like this (approximation)
The Vasudans had the best one imho. It was Whvvvyooooooooooooo(brief pause after the chargeup sequence)SHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEooooooooooooaah
Now THAT's a pew pew to be reckoned with.
Salvagers... kinda have a pew pew sound. Like dzee-zee-zee-zee-zee-zee-zee.
Indeed, I wish lasers sounded more aesthetically pleasing as well. FzzzzzzzZZzzzZZzzzzt is kinda boring.
And personally i think large hybrid blasters should make sounds that are similar to if not the same as the Pulse Phasers on the Defiant. Now THAT's definite pew-pew-pew-pew-pew sounding. |

Personally, I think the most impressive gun sound in the game is the sound of 250 rails. The first time I fired a volley of these I nearly jumped out of my seat.
And then when I first fired 425s I was expecting something even more impressive - and it was pathetic.
If I was going to try to spell it it would be something like the old comic standard - THOOOOM.

I love the sound of Megapulse Lasers myself... ssssssssssssssPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEW.
And is it me or do Beam lasers sound more 'pulsey' than Pulse lasers? I mean listen to heavy beams, they sound like a machine gun

LOL I always heard the salvagers as "WhhhaDingleDingleDingleDingle"
What's wild is I've not gone through and checked all the sounds of the different sizes. I just figured they were all the same. I do seem to recall some cruise/BC sized pulse laser that actually projected the visual beam like "BURST-drain-BURST-drain-BURST" per shot but the mega pulse is just one big "Buuuuuuuuurst"
And since I never used anything other than civi projectiles...are there mini-gun sounding projectiles? Brrrapapapaapapapapap!

Edited by: Freyya on 04/04/2007 08:58:15 might i add a seemingly forgotten weapon system with the worst sounds EVER? Drones... all they do is go: (imagine a very VERY tiny lettersize] pief....pief....pief...pief..well actually ratata more but pief makes the weak aspect so much more visible. even the heavy drones (including and not limited to the t2 version) have a horrifying weaksauce sound compared to the "uber" damage they do...
the actual sound is open for debate though ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------to be or not to be is not important in the world of EVE... To be the most you can become is... |

Just out of curiosity is that a LARP community phrase for something or do you just play more futuristic games than we do ? (dark ages vampire has very little that could conceivably go PewPewPew and that makes me sad)
