Yes, I was surprised by the sound of the 250mm Railguns too, and thought the sound of the large railguns is worthless compared to that.
But still, I think the Focused Medium beam laser comes closest to the pew pew pew sound... simple because it does pew and does it multiple times in one shot

are you sure that the "pewpew" is not taken from starwars?
all the tie fighters, x-wings etc make a perfect "pew pew" sound, so i always thought that "pewpew" is a reference to starwars.

Should ask Davion where he got the idea for that reply in the quote  . And when i say "it started from that OMGRawr quote", that applies to EvE context only. I am sure it was used in many games before EvE... hell, i remember running around the backyard with a toy "laser" making "pew pew" sounds
