Edited by: Still Hart on 23/03/2007 21:13:29 In the interests of not hijacking other threads, I just thought I'd point out once again that the correct pluralization of the word "bonus" is "bonuses". It's not "boni" nor is it "bonii".

I hear your pain dude, but it only goes to show that some people have a hard time verbalising what's in their head.
Don't let it get you down though as I'm sure many people on this forum speak more than just English, even if it's their second language.

Ok, since this is a thread about English... "irregardless". It is a double negative. Don't say "irregardless" when you really mean "regardless".

It's "could have" not "could of" as in:
"I could have defeated him had all his friends not jumped in."
It can also be contracted to "could've" (whose pronunciation probably caused the whole thing). --- Hey hey let's go kenka suru! Taisetsuna mono protect my balls! Boku ga warui so lets fighting! LET'S FIGHTING LOVE!!! |

but its a mute point, it could of been implented already if they really wanted. irregardless of the other new toys we got.

This is , in fact, not true. Both ways are correct. "Hung" is used for more ... formal.. occasions.
Feel free to do the research.

Men are indeed hung as well but this does not often lead to their death; being hanged, however, frequently does.

Edited by: Dashi Kawasuki on 25/03/2007 16:35:12 Bonus is a word of Latin origin (as in latin = old Romans, not that kind of music like samba :) ) and in Latin the correct plural of bonus is boni.
incorporating a word in your own language doesn't make the original form wrong. And I as a german have a lot sad stories to tell about foreign words in my native language. There even is a name for an aweful mix of German and English: Denglisch -> Deutsch + English.
And now to something completely different... |

While not exactly to do with good English; the words (if you can call them that) "turrents", "greive" and "toon" drive me into homicidle rages when I see them somtimes.

'Fraction' is an abomination frequently used by the less gifted of my german countrymen since the english 'faction' is the german 'Fraktion'. Still drives me up the wall, just like turrents, Calderis etc.
As for boni, it is in fact the correct latin nominative plural, the german language got it right for once and the anglification 'bonuses' is the true abomination here, even if it is 'correct' english. --------- There is no 'n' in turret There is no 'r' in faction There is no 'a' in Kestrel There is no 'e' in Caldari
