What has happened to Aura?
I logged onto Sisi yesterday and when making a jump a strange new voice started speaking.
Now to my admittedly very imperfect hearing this caused a bit of a problem. Not only had the voice changed but apparently also the species! To me it sounded like Donald Duck. Not only that but as other old-timers might be able to relate to it sounded like a 33RPM record being played at 45. I found the new voice hard to understand. Apart from the speed, the diction, unlike the present voice, sounded unclear and garbled.
I may be considered to be a stick-in-the-mud but I do wonder why the voice has been changed and in my opinion not for the better. |

CCP brought the original Aura voice actor back to re-record Aura simply because there were so many more messages that Aura was supposed to be delivering to players.
I agree with you that the new voice is too high pitched, and could do with being slowed down by about 20-30%.

Agreed, the voice is too high-pitched and talks too fast, but also inserts pauses in awkward places (warp-drive ......... active / docking-request ......... accepted). There are some other things I can't put my finger on but the new voice just sounds cheezy overall. |
