In Britain, the most popular tea brands are all blends of a few different black teas; mostly assam, I suppose, although its a nightmare trying to find out what exactly they use.

Teas one of those things where variety is good though. Earl Grey is lovely, Darjeeling is pretty nice, Green Tea is good and refreshing, Ceylon is nice in a tangy way. Herbal Teas are sometimes nice, but they can be a bit hit and miss.

But I would struggle to call coffee a tea

Hehe... No I didn't say it was the same thread. But since both are about tea I thought it would be nice to link it.

There's a lot of good tea related advice in the other thread

i believe it is! its a bean which is soaked in hot water and the flavors and chemicals are carried with the hot water.

i think almost anything that goes through this process in a kind of tea.

hmmm this also sounds a lot like soup.... soup unfiltered tea?

I found a direct corrolation between the consumption of tea and the growing enjoyment from watching cricket and bowls, don't you know!

 As such I don't drink the p***
