You can make isk in NCP trade goods with Freighter, but it isn't very interesting and profit levels are kinda low compared to say mission running in a 1bil BS (equivelant cost). Also getting enough volume can be tricky.
oops missed that post thxs for the help!

I'd just like to point out that you only get a limited amount of loot from a freighter kill.
So say T2 ships don't fit in wrecks. No point in killing a freighter full of them.
Unless I'm mistaken, the ships that exit a popped freighter are the same as those that drop from any other ship hauling them - they pop out assembled and flyable, not as cargo in the wreck.
And thus, if you have T2 ships in there, you want T2 pilots.
And if you have 450k m3 of shuttles, you want to be off that node when it pops. Ah man...can't wait til that happens.
I can see it now: park a freighter full of shuttles a little away from Jita 4-4, hop out, get in a frig, attack someone, once concord pops you get back into the freighter - you're still flagged? BOOM! Then all the shuttles pop out and as the server explodes showering England with silicon, CONCORD attacks all the shuttles (read this in another thread hope it's true).
Man. That would be quite the party. ----- :::Need to be cleaned:::

Lets be honest, high sec ganking should at the least give no insurance payout. If the suicide ganking of frieghters becomes as common and popular as ganking indies, CCP is going to have a very large problem within a year of highsec simply being ruined. I'm all for safer not safe, but it makes me wonder if we'll possibly, at the least, see T2 freighters, with a built-in DCU II.

omg stop j00r pre-emptive whining... so many people are complaining about this.... high sec will not die just because freighters drop loot... what will die is autopiloting freighters generating isk (go north... buy cheap railguns... move railguns south to where theres nothing but lazors... sell for 3x price... rinse.. repeat... rich...)
Freighters were not intended for this crap. They are meant to allow CORPS to move a LOT of crap at once... so gaurd the damn things... take remote reps... stop afking for easy isk. Or..... afk in a smaller hauler.

Who the hell are you to say what freighters were designed for?? People use them for many things and that's what makes this game rich. I do aggree that you should not get insurance payback if you get concorded in high sec, as you were breaking the law. I know NO real insurance would pay out if you had committed a crime, they would use it against you.
As far as Outbreak's freighter kill in high sec goes, it was well worth the trade off... Roughly 7 billion in equipment were destroyed. Pity the fool |
