More ultra-nationalist and anti-american than racist, but I totally agree that he's a jackass.
For those of you who want to see more of Mark Sheppard (Lampkin), you should check out the excellent but canceled sci-fi series Firefly if you haven't already. Sheppard played a minor character named Badger and does a great job of it. He's in the episodes Serenity and Shindig.

I absolutely loved this episode... bears rewatching. Several times.
I liked so many things about it... Lee's speech, Admiral voting for the acquittal, Tigh reborn and possibly singlehandedly strengthening the revealed cylons' resolve to be what they want to be and not what they have been created to be, Lee flying the viper in the end... Starbuck ffs!

OUTSTANDING EPISODE, a great way to end the third series.
So many questions, absolutely fantastic, lets them write and incredible storyline for series 4. Althought RDM has stated he isn't sure in his own head if s4 will be the finale or if it'll continue. If it builds from this base into 22 episodes of climax I'd be quite happy :)
Thrace might not be a cylon, there are ways to get out of that one, who's to say the other 4 haven't been brainwashed into their cylon revelation during their time on new caprica, they might have went missing without even knowing it. Didn't baltar seemingly hear the music also. Tyrol has had a kid... so Hera isn't unique. Ah so much to discuss, and digest.
Brilliant episode.

Well I think the identity of the last unkown Cylon is obvious. It's Bob Dylan! Come to think of it Bob Dylan does seem other wordly at times. He must have wrote "All Along the Watchtower" as a mesage to the Cylons back in the 60s. :-) |

Ok I maybe giving away my age here, but as a child, I remember watching the original series. They had this white, glowing ship that showed up every once in a while. Wonder if that has got to do with them hearing music and Starbuck showing back up. That's all I'm going to say cause I don't want to give away too much for those that never watched it. Gerog |

We don't know who the fifth is. It's either starbuck or Lee. Lee seeing starbuck could have been him envisioning seeing starbuck, that would mean he envisioned her exploding in the maelstrom. But it's probably starbuck.
Also it's weird how Tigh is a cylon when hes been with the fleet for 40 years and served in the first cylon war. That would mean he was cloned and replaced back on Caprica or something.
Awesome episode can't wait for season 4.

The popular myth is that there was an attempt to make the original BSG into a sitcom by having the fleet reach Earth and placing the characters into various awkward and funny situations by having to cope with the lifestyle and culture of the viewing audience, but of course, no one would be stupid enough to do that to such a developed series, right?
Er...wait....
All kidding aside, I think if anyone learned the lesson of that horrible attempt, it is the people who decided to make the current series 'less cute' than the sci fi we had up till now.
Or so we can hope!

Thats not racist. I'm used to American accents in space adn I couldn't give a toss what accent someone has if it's good TV. And BSG is definitely good TV.

Hardly I'm from the states myself. The show just has an underlying theme of patriotism that I find very naff.
Remember the first episodes?
"Humanity is being exterminated, billions of people are dying!" "WHAT ABOUT THE PRESIDENT?????" "He's dead, you are now the president of the united states of the universe."
Not to mention all of the wishy washy emotional crap that makes me want to vomit over my tv. Like the way the crew on the bridge pause to applaud like idiots when ever they have a victory.

What about if the 5 shown there are actually the 5 priests in the scriptures? No-one ever said the final 5 and the 5 priests were the same people (although it would make more sense).
Still, shoots down my theory of Adama being a cylon if they're the cylons... ---

Did you not see the first 4 or 5 episodes of Season 3? Battlestar: Galactica became Battlestar: Iraq, with the humans in the role as the insurgents, even using Suicide-Bombers to attack the Police Academy. Col. Tigh even plans to suicide bomb a market.
Oh, and on the revelation that the 4 (plus Starbuck) are the final 5 Cylons; they don't have to be 'Cylons' as we understand. In an episode (which one I can't remember) a Cylon said that the humanoid-cylons do not know who programmed/created them, but they know that it wasn't the Toasters that went off to find a home after the end of the first Cylon war. That's probably why the believe in God as the creator. The info would be on the Battlestar wiki but it's down at the moment.
This probably suggests a third party for the development of humanoid-cylons. Either way, the story of BSG is completely open to a million interpretations at the moment.
As someone said, I'm going to go with The Immortal Bob Dylan as God, creator of Cylons, Lord of Kobol! It's the only explanation for All Along The Watchtower being the 'switch' for the final 4

amazing episode
I was shocked that Tigh could actually be a cylon, didnt think that the human cylons were around in the first war. Also with the cheif being a cylon wouldn't that mean there kid was the second of the new generation.
I so hate these dam Cliffhangars have to wait a year or so till season 4 now :( ________________________________________ THTA |

Well the Cylons ARE pretty fundamentalist monotheist abrahamic-God worshipers but still. We don't want this to turn into a political flamefest (though it does show the depth of BSG to be able to start such debates).
The thing with the occupation.. The march of the Cylon Centurions down the main street which was meant to evoke thoughts of the Germans' March through Paris, was really the only thing that was more similar to occupied-france than Iraq.
But really, occupied france, occupied Iraq, it's not really that much different to the man on the ground.
I just found some good hints here in a interview with Ron Moore on the mysteries of the end Season 3, go take a look see Linkage ---------------------------------------- Space-Slacker |
