Yes, but the "link" skills only work if you have a link, and you can only fit links to certain vessels which don't perform very well as miners(IE battlecruisers), however its great for boosting other miners in that case, cause you can get close to 30% bonus with full link skills and the implant.
Balcura	Posted - 2007.03.27 00:51:00 - [7] Sexo has got most of the information correct. The mining Director needs to be a BC or a Carrier pilot. You can creative with tanking setups with either ship. With Mining Foreman 5 Mining Director 5 Warfare Link Spec 5 Cybernetics 5 (to get the slot 10 implant) I offer a 15% yield bonus to my fleet mates and a 22.5% cycle time bonus. My setup (when some one else is tanking) is a Harbinger with 7 miner II's (deep cores work too) and a laser optimization gang module. then all the fitting gear with a small rep. (btw I have a 900 m3/min with this setup) When I tank I use a Passive tanked Ferox. 5 miner II's good resists and rep drones. I can hold a triple 1.4 BS spawn without too much issue.

Just to clarify on the cycle time: am I correct in assuming that unless one gets a Mining Foreman Ice Harvesting Mindlink (with associated skills of course) Mining Foreman is as good as useless in Ice mining? The skill improves the mining laser yield but since ice harvesters output 1 unit per cycle that's not working, right? Is there any other way to increase ice mining output (other than using ice harvesters II or train Ice Harvesting to V)? I will train them, of course but at the mo Exumer V and then Hydro Physics etc take priority - short term solutions needed here Thank you
