Ive spent today doing nothing but solo piracy. Travelled a good 200+ jumps to get 6 kills in total.
Theres not much of it out there BUT it IS there.

That was one of the most awesomne things I have ever seen.
I am new to the whole Piracy thing after having had too much of alliance *******s, but I got a solo kill last night, granted it was a nub but it was my first kill in acts of Liberation of Assets. I look forward to many more

well not dead, seems most of the people that are worth shooting have friends.. last real 1 v 1 pvp i had was in 0.0 which followed a blob of unreasonable proportions... jumpclones are cool.
an example of what not to do.
flying an ishkur notice a thorax pirating in oldman star. in a pirating mood i scan furiously find somone... stab fitted and got away... jerk 
find the pirate thorax start fighting his drones are killed to the point of irrelivancy <word?> so i start killing him a touch more. the fight is won he will die soon!! domis come to his recue im dead... local is you friend use it

no it's not, it's easy to find lone ratters and miners in low sec, you just need to be patient
Kind of like the Triforce in Zelda, only not quite as potent.

i kill pirates now and they kill me lol
check my KB below i have almsot all kills solo and the only time i die if i get ganked which happens lol:)
and yes im soloing with a Geddon which 99% of eve think its not possible
almost had that mach too , **** happens :)

Its alot more challenging now which is good. But there seems to be alot less people ratting and mining in low sec systems close to empire!

But seriously tho  remove local chat and forums.
Perhaps local chat could be someway tied to what your scanner picks up in a particular part of the system.
A small system you scan and you see everyone who is there and consequently you see everyone in system in
your local chat, but a large system you would need a number of scan points.
Hell you could even chuck some more skills in to enhance your scanning abilty.
How else would carebears know about the evils(joy) of piracy other than learning about it the hard way ?
It seems like there are too many ways to ease the learning curve in this game.
I learnt my meagre pvp skills in corp not by reading about it in forums.
Solo pvp not dead tho, just seems less of and more region specific for some strange
unbeknown reason.
p.s never listen to corpies with alterior motives ie DON'T WANNA HURT THERE PURDY SEC STATS when choosing
that choosen land where the carebears all wear blinkers proclaiming "it'll be ok piracy is dead YAY! "

I have to say that I'm enjoying high sec piracy more than with my other character who is low sec only. More potential targets naturally, and more lucrative targets.
But I'm still an old belt pirate at heart.

Your profession exists to take from other professions. Don't complain that it actually takes EFFORT to achieve this. On the flip side, if solo piracy was easy as mining, there would be no one playing EVE.
Short and long of it is, no one likes to get stolen from, and CCP needs to balance there loses with their gains, else they will get fed up and leave. Pirates don't lose anything near to what the other professions do; perhaps a ship, CONCORD doesn't pod (they should), so what else is their to punish people for criminal acts?

That's operating on the real life assumption that piracy is something which needs punishing. It shouldn't be punished in eve, why? It's a game.
Real life comparisons should be made to real life to make a point. Real life comparisons to a game don't work. At least that's my belief.

its not just getting a kill its about profit and yes i know u can still make a profit but its harder now and thats a fact

Nothing in this game is easy and fast.
Even with mining you have to sit and chew rocks for a long time to make any decent money.
So why shouldn't pirates have to actually HUNT for vict-- err...charitable contributors?

Just do like every other prat out there and go Empire war deccing and ganking. Or bait n00bs and miners if you are desperate, like so many seem to be.
Wait till the new missions get going, see what happens.
It's not much of one but it IS a LowSec boost, in a way.
Only question is, will it mean whole Corps moving in to do missions together, or will it be random solo peeps who eventually get tired of losing expensive ships while fighting 15 BS 20 frigs and cruisers and having to deal with some tool who sails in and attacks him.
If it's the latter, then you are back to square one.
If it's the former, then you are gonna get blobbed more often, also theres the potential of missioner coalitions attempting to take over or police a chain.

Piracy? Try PvP in general...you can't go around these days without being blobbed or blobbing.
I find a lone Astarte on a gate and fight. He calls in 3 battleships from another system to take me out. I find a lone Sleipnir in a belt, he runs. I run into a passive tanked Drake, I run, its pointless.

The big difference, some people hunt, others go looking for people to kill.
Its a mindset and a way of fighting. On one hand, you find that 10 man camp, say "ah, I can't kill them all" and leave, on the other hand, as a predator you realise you just need to seperate the weak ones, so you go in, you warp out, and repeat. Slowly they get frustrated, and eventually a couple faster ships give chase either by warping after you or peeling off the gate. Then you strike, grab a couple cans and run.
Solo PvP is very much possible and alive if you maintain that you are the predator.
