Trouble is thery're all doable solo, just some are a right pain in the arse. For e.g. "Pirate Slaughter" took me over 3 hrs today....
i) am Amarr ii) 90k to gates - 2 of those iii) Last stage = untankable agro iv) is against Guristas with nasty resists and jamming So I do first 2 in a little under an hour, kill 2 cruisers in the last stage and warp out... loot first 2 - another 1/2 hour cos mission is still active and can't use MWD. Jump back in mission ship and slowboat to last stage.
Total room agro again, kill a couple more & warp out ... slow boat back and this time the whole spawn doesn't aggro so kill everything.
Works out did 540km at 130m/s in mission ship + about another 150km or so with an AB salvager.
Pain in the arse!

I've been jammed for almost an entire stage once or twice. I love drones. I get a lock send the drones to attack and start flying away target gone. I then fly back in get a second lock engage drones and fly out again.
There was one lvl 3 where this did not work as they took out my drones quick and my skills were not enough in the Harb to tank the way I needed to so as I asked in local how to handle the jamming and somebody with an Apoc volunteered to assist me. Stage cleared - mission complete.

Disagree
Then something has changed since last we tested in our corp. I will rerun tests. Thanks for the clear and concise image Sandeep. ---

Grey, I can add that I have tested it against Serpentis and my FOF were hitting at 33 km while my lock range was 18 km.

The rats are jamming from over 200k. This is just sillywrong. If I had a chance I would damp them but rats seem to have unlimited locking range and instant locking speed too so come on here. Give us a break!

Edited by: Flaming Lemming on 30/03/2007 06:59:46 But why are you all complaining? Isn't it common knowledge that mission runners are Noob-corp scum who aren't playing the game right beacuse they aren't spending every waking second in the PvP that defines this game? Remember, the hierarchy of importance is something like this:
1)PvP 2).....everything else 3)macro-miners 4)industrialists/traders 5)pond-scum 6)lawyers 7)mission runners.
Always be aware of where you fit in the grand scheme of things..and Dev decisions will make more sense.
But at least I'm not bitter.

seen in my latest missions. "lvl 3" 180km lock and fires from NPC's "they fail to hit though". 95% time of jamming by murders.. "thank god for FoF's, when there arent any buildings ofc".

The devs said some time ago that FoFs being limited to your lock range was a deliberate design decision. So the new way is either a new bug or the devs changed their mind and forget to tell anyone (aka a dev changed it without asking anyone else).

I smash L3s in an Abaddon that was decked out for L4 missions. But at the moment, since L4 missions have such a huge potential for loss, I'm just crushing L3's while practically AFK, till the Devs figure out what they plan to do with L4's. At the moment the risk of a L4 seems much greater than the potential reward.
My BS is getting jammed at least 5 cycles a mission on L3 missions. L4's are just an invitation to pay the insurance on your battleship again, take a standing hit dropping the mission, and seeing what modules weren't destroyed. Easier to just crush L3's and base your income off the salvage.

I havn't been jammed a single time on level 3's since patch... not once in about 15 missions. I used to get jammed maybe 1-2 times on some missions, now it hasn't happened once.

Get a friend to come into the mission after you in a cruiser, battlecruiser, assault frigate whatever. He can go in, take out the E-War guys while they're perma jamming you and then the rest of the mission is a cakewalk. ------

*COUGH* ECCM *COUGH* Yes, they do have a use people, every gurista mission, as I'm changing hardeners, i slap on some Radar backups and now I never get jammed. For serpentis: sensor boosters; sansha: tracking enhancers; blood: an extra nos; etc, etc...

Re-read the post of Grox a bit higher ...
I've tried ECCM too, weakening my tank to paper-thin : still jammed 8 times in a row.

Also please don't say that you have no problems if you only run lvl3s. There are no problems in lvl3s (at least for me), but lvl4s is a totally different story. --------- There is no 'n' in turret There is no 'r' in faction There is no 'a' in Kestrel There is no 'e' in Caldari

hehe yes. did the assault the first time today. i usually farm the ones i know well, but i got no better missions so...
oh man this is some tough mission. cap and tank was stable, np. and i finished it without problems, but still... they jammed a cnr (with higher sensor strength than a standard raven) for several cycles in a row and then there is a 2nd spawn in the 2nd pocket. this really is only safe with a highest end faction tank or a couple of buddies repairing you. i think in terms of nastiness this even surpasses angel extra bonus stage.
that's just nuts i agree. --

Does ECCM work vs NPC nowdays? They didnt use to work vs NPC, but then they hardly worked vs players either.

2 sensor boosters worked great against Serps Blockade for me. They definitley work better against the threats than whining ;-)

Amen. and as for the ECCM I don't know why they wouldn't work vs. NPC if it just boosts your sensor strength, afaik Gurista ECMs abide by the same rules that ours do.

They don't. They have a fixed percentage chance of success regardless of sensor strength.
While the serp damping has a counter (the same counter as for player damping), and to some degree so does the insane blood NOSing (passive tank, or a friend in a logistics ship, i.e. same counter as for player NOSing), there is no counter for the Guristas ECM because of the fact that NPC jamming is based on a fixed chance instead of a chance calculated from sensor strength (i.e. not the same as player jamming). ------------ Ezra Cornell
