Prove your loyalty =======================
Mission briefing: ----------------------- You have proven yourself to be a friend of the Federation, but now I want to test how good a friend you are. These are treacherous times and we need to find out who we can rely on in the future in case things go bad. I have a small mission for you and if you finish it your standing with the Federation will be much improved. Furthermore, as a token of our friendship, you'll be rewarded handsomely with a valuable blueprint. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for you, so listen carefully. The Tama system in the Isoma constellation was the location of the one of the fiercest battles of our war against the Caldari. Wrecks from the battle are still located there, but there has been an unofficial agreement between us and the Caldari not to disturb it, out of respect to those that perished there all those years ago. The thing is, buried amongst the wrecks are some top quality military equipment that can come in handy even today. In light of the volatile situation we're going to break this tradition and scavenge as much as we can - we suspect the Caldari will do the same. So what I want you to do is go to the old battlefield in the Tama system and find one piece of Defunct Drone Sensor Module and bring it back to me. You have plenty of time, 6 hours, to complete this mission, and remember, if you do you'll receive a blueprint copy! Good luck!
Objectives ----------------------- To complete the mission, the following must be performed by you: one unit of Defunct Drone Sensor Module must be provided at Alenia V - Moon 4 - Roden Shipyards Factory
Rewards ----------------------- Upon completing the mission, the following will be awarded to you: 53760 credits
Bonus Rewards ----------------------- The following bonuses may be awarded to you: one unit of Shield Boost Amplifier I Blueprint at Alenia V - Moon 4 - Roden Shipyards Factory - if you complete the mission before 2003.12.23 15:25
OK so I have gone to system and as no bookmark checked out all planets sun etc and done a scan.
At every location that I can see the Drone sensor storage that must contain what I am looking for it is beyond the range where the distance is listed.
I cannot complete this mission and think that maybe as there are 3 other people in the same system as me with the same problem that this may be bugged.
I have raised a petition but does anyone else have any ideas?
Any help gratefully received.

I've had the same problem with the Minmatar version of this mission.
I was able to buy the item from the market and my agent accepted it.
That's all I can suggest. I've also petitioned and await a response.
good luck

try some ranged scans, and try to narrow it down from there. I'm guessing there is no 'battleground' area in the system? .

Well the station there sells them as a luxury good.
Cost 900K but mission completed and no standing lost.
cant really afford 900k as really skint after being PC rated the other day for nearly all my remaing ISK but never mind.
Papa or Zark any chance of a ISk refund maybe as this mission bugged?
Cheers all

I just went to the scenario on Tranquility and found the drone sensor storage. There were 2 players camping it. You do not need a bookmark to find it, but the place is a bit well hidden. I suggest you look a little harder ;).

Does the storage move around from mission grant to mission grant? A static location is a recipe for pharming, frustration, and anger. |

I must say that is an ideal situation so pretty soon on a busy night we could have a queue of players waiting to pick up their item.
I do beleive that you need to sort this out. Nothing to see here .... move along. |

Edited by: Scotari on 23/12/2003 18:06:13 Ive just been given this mission and seeing as its into a 0.2 system, this talk of players camping the storage spot makes me very nervy
I do most missions in a frigate - must I decline this mission to stay alive?

My honest suggestion is, check the scenario, if it's camped simply decline the next such mission or purchase the Defunct Drone Sensor Module off the market. I'll eventually lower the frequency of it due to the difficulty, or somehow get the scenario people to up the drop rate. It only gives out blueprint copies after the Castor patch, so the price of the temple stones should drop considerably. There really is nothing I can do about people camping it 24/7, and I think that if people have the patience for that then so be it.

Edited by: Tovin on 23/12/2003 18:55:21 I have to admit, I'm stumped. I spent 3 hours getting prepared to fight off other ships in .2 space, and npc rats that would prolly kick my butt. Then I jumped 14 jumps to where I needed to look, looked at ALL the moons, found *nothing*, and now I loose faction standing because I have to decline this mission??
There were 4 people in the system (Oyeman) looking for the Temple Stone. NONE of us found it. Are we all that ignorant of how to play that we can't find something like that??
Please, please please!!!!! Someone tell me how to accomplish this! Spending 3 hours out of a 6 hour mission (already lost the bonus), and then decling is irksome and annoying. Obviously, I'm not equipped to do this sort of mission yet. What do I need to accomplish this?
I put a lot of work into doing agent missions, I'm not a combat type, so I have to decline all Level 3 agent combat missions. Having to decline these types of missions as well will simply suck my standings dry!!
Help anyone?
[edit : Cheapest temple stone I see on market is still 4mil.]

I'm not going to say where the exact location is. But I am going to have this mission disabled in the update tonight, due to the difficulty of it. It will be put back into the game when the temple stone / drone sensor module loot drops have been upped and the mission made less frequent.
Also, be wary of the people in that system. They might say "they can't find it", but they could be lying. I went to Tama an hour ago or so on Tranq and found 2 people camping the scenario.

Edited by: Siphol Kalarth on 23/12/2003 19:45:00 Just to add my Ç2.
I just had this misson, and in the end had to buy the item from the station, for a rather high amount of isk. Someone (who will remain unnamed) is making a tidy packet farming these items.
Isn't this a candidate for "spawn on container open" at the very least?
Edit: Just finnished the misson off.
I got the time bonous BP, but not the BP copy that the misson briefing promised me. This isn't really an "other" pertition as it seems to be a bug. Was there ment to be no reward for completing this misson other than the time bonous? I find this hard to believe.

I keep faith, it's only what I believe in that changes.

Give us a small clue is it a a location you can actually warp to cause I tried every planet, moon and roid field there and also did a scan (each time I could scan) and the 2 drone spawns where listed as beyond where it could supply the distance.
OK it might be as you say difficult to find but I have had more sucess locating players mid space than this 1 spawn.

Try using the scanner
Start with ranged scans, and decrease range from scan to scan (start with max range) as soon the spawn conts disappear from scan results, check which celestial objects disappeared too, so you have an approx. location.
and when you start to use angled scans have the F11 map opened to see in which direction you look.
oh, and on a sidenote, have some patience while scanning

It's been a long time since i have done this mission, but if I remember right, it's at a moon instead of a planet. A moon of planet 7 comes to mind, but may be wrong. Usually if you fly there and ask those who are camping it, they may give you the item you need, Hope this helps.

I have just been through this one as well
My feeling is that missions to fixed known places are a Bad Thing in general - it's a guaranteed camping spot and you can sell the defunct drone sensor modules (or whatever) for anywhere from 500K to several Million ISK.
Tama had 21 people in it when I got there - you could decline it every time but the standing hit is a pain when it comes up too often. I could afford to buy a unit and not worry about it - but others may not be in that position.
I think it would be better if the item auto-spawned when you open the container (still open to abuse though if multiple people need to do the same mission) or occurs at a random bookmark location.

Last time I was there to do this mission. I got two of the Defunct Drone Unit. I still have one left in tama. If you want please conv me and I sell you at a good price. Another thing that bothers me is why this is not orignal BP. I already got 2 orginal BP of Small shield External from my level 3 agent. It doesn't cost much but still it is orginal.

The locations of these missions are findable, I actually stumbled across it before I ever got the mission so I happened to have the item on hand when I did get it. Once you find it, it should be easy to get as when I cleaned the place out it had 3 of the item on location.
For the caldari/defunct drone version of this mission ranged scans arent even needed. Just warping to all planets and moons is enough. That said, be carefull, I barely maneged this in a cruiser before castor. Wouldn't want to try it now unless with a group or in a BS.
