Where as i nearly always got a +2 implant from lvl 2 storyline missions, this has not been the case on most lvl 3 storyline missions. Luckily the lvl 3 mission "Massive Attack" would drop a +3 implant when destroying the overseers stash in the bonus part of the mission.
Doing Massive Attack for the first time since the patch last night the overseers stash only dropped me a Hammerhead drone
I wonder if other mission runners have noticed this?

It appears to be randomized, as there was a thread not a few days ago (use the search for once in your life) and similar reports.
I, on the other hand, ran it yesterday and recieved a +3 int for my troubles. ----------------

The story missions I've gotten from my lvl 3 agent haven't given me any +3 implants yet >_< --- Currently flying a PvE geared Crusader and Prophecy |

I find it's random too.
Level 4 storyline agent, doing kill missions of roughly the same difficulty from what I remember.
Time before last I got a +4 implant as part of the reward (not a drop). Last time I can't remember, because it was so, erm, unmemorable.

However the mission is non deadpsace, so you can b/m the bonus room and just farm it for a week. Used to be a good source of cash when you always got the implants. Now it's barely worth it.

I've gotten the +3 implant from this mission twice in the past 2 weeks... having done the mission a total of 4 times. So 50/50 have been my odds so far.

I'm really glad they finally fixed this mission. I was sick of seeing the implant market die because of it. +3 implants dropped in price by 25-40% because of this mission alone being changed in Kali as people figured it out. Now that it's a 25% drop rate the price has jumped on a few implants already and they will go back to where they should be price wise.

When they were removed as mission rewards and changed to storyline rewards you mean?
+3's are simply too cheap now... they are making LP's nearly worthless and +4's are coming down in price because 3's are so cheap. +2's have dropped as well. All because one mission was incorrectly set to drop a +3 each time... that's quite a large impact for 1 minor mistake.

I called you on this in another thread, and you declined to comment further. Wonder why?
Prove that the *entire* implant market was massively changed by this one single mission alone, and not the fact that CCP got rid of almost every agent offer other than implants during the Dragon patch.
I'd also like to know how having more +3s can affect the +4 market so much.
Give me your detailed market logs and analysis. Spreadsheets, screenshots, you name it. Write me an essay. ----------------

Implant prices crashed when CCP changed the mission structures to remove the non-deadspace encounter missions (about 8 months ago), at the same time, they drastically reduced the variety of courier missions. Result? it was possible to run 16 0.1m3 couriers in very short period of time (read 'ceptors, not BS/Indies), thus vastly increasing the frequncy of SL missions with implant rewards. Prices are starting to get a little better now with the last patch, it will balance over time.

There was a real problem with this mission, namely, farming. I admit to running 3 lvl 3 'Massive Attacks' at the same time, you could do the mission in 10 minutes after the first time and the trick of course was not to kill the Overseerer, bookmark the bonus section and just warp to the bookmark every day after downtime and farm the 'Stash' structure which always dropped a +3 implant. At the end of 7 days you could make 70 - 100 million minumum just from farming one Massive Attack for a week, so it was a no brainer really. I dont know how they are going to deal with this 'problem', perhaps still allow you 7 days to complete missions but every 24 hours you get a standing loss percentage? That which does not kill us makes us stronger. The Universe is ruled by three basic principles- Matter, Energy and Enlightened Self-Interest! |

I don't know which other thread you're referring to. I know I posted about this a few times but this is the only thread I saw come back around the next time I looked at the forums. If I had seen you "call me" on this I would have responded. Like I am right here and now.
The easiest proof that this mission changed everything is by looking at the graphs for +3 implants. In my region, which is a heavily traversed one that sells between 50 and 100 of each +3 implant per day, there was a very obvious decline in prices starting at the end of January. Why is this significant? This is exactly when threads started to appear where people talked about getting a +3 implant from Massive Attack every time in the bonus room. Feb 1 is when I first did a few Massive Attacks to test it out. By the middle of Feb the prices hit rock bottom... and the demand caught up to supply which caused a little surge as always happens when a market was in free-fall and went too far. The market then somewhat stabilized around this new price point (which was 30% or so lower than it was pre-MA). The prices were ever so slowly trending downwards again, as even more people jumped onto the MA bandwagon... and then as soon as MA was changed in this recent patch the price has JUMPED. Check it out, all +3 implants are shooting for the stars in prices, some are already back to pre-Kali price levels.
So now, the price changes fit exactly to the time-line of massive attack changes. As to the changes to offers, I havn't been offered a +3 implant offer in weeks now. So are you sure they removed other offers? I got all sorts of +2 implant offers, even as I got 20k LP and above. I've gotten 4 ship building offers and finally I just got a connections book offer. So I certainly havn't noticed a reduction in non implant offers... to me I've seen more non-implant offers than ever and that holds true across 3 agents I work for. If you think that was the cause for the price drop then you prove it to me, lets see graphs/time-lines/spreadhseets/etc... you are the one who has to prove that one. I've proven the MA time-line fits perfect, it's your job to prove it is agent offers if you really think that has impacted anything to a serious degree.
As to why it would impact the +2 market, that is very simple. +3's have been the implant most people shoot for as a cost/benefit analysis. At least all my corp mates have always gotten the +3's if possible. +2's are the implant people get for alts or if they are going to be in low sec more, as they arn't as big a loss if you get podded. Also not everyone can even afford +3's, there are lots of people who just didn't have 20 mill isk to spend on an implant. But as +3's came down from the 15-22 mil range and into the 8-14 mil range more people found that they could buy +3's instead of +2's... thus the demand for +2's dropped. Because demand for +2's dropped the price on +2's dropped until demand could again equal supply. This drop was not nearly as sudden as the +3 drop... it was more of an overall downward trend starting in late January. It will take a while for the prices to slowly start increasing again now that +3's have jumped in price again.
As to the +4 market, it has been in a constant state of decline ever since more people started to run level 4 missions. People weren't willing to spend 100 mill on +4's when you get +3 for under half that. And that has stayed true, as +3's have dropped in price the +4's have had to follow because the demand for +4's drops as +3 prices drop... which pulls down +4 prices until the demand is again equal to the ever increasing supply. +4 prices actually had stabilized and were rebounding after revelations... but then something happened to again force prices downward, just as MA was being exploited and +3 prices plummeted.
