Edited by: Jimmy Saville on 29/03/2007 23:47:22 So, with the supposed BoB honey trap at the capital shipyards, it got me thinking about what has been the biggest ruse / trap in eve history to date.
The one that springs to mind is the epic pyramid scam from about 2 years ago where a guy asked for investments from people and walked away with the cash... billions of it...
What's the best trap you remember in Eve history?

Please keep on topic guys, this is a discussion about the best scams and rip offs in eve history. There are plenty of smack threads about the War you can contribute to if you wish.

Your stupid theory would require them having a spy in goonswarm who is spying on BoB for goonswarm for BoB.

Or they accidentally let slip to a known spy in BoB or a BoB friendly corp that there's a Titan being built? Not that far fetched to me. . . - - - - - - - - - -

WOW! It seems this thread got politicised fast... My question is about the best scams / bluffs in Eve to date. Constructive comments welcome.

Edited by: Thargat on 29/03/2007 23:57:42 Even if it was a trap it still doesn't change the fact that the coalition took that POS down. BoB and allies tried to kill as many capitals as possible and the POS STILL went down. This just proves that (atleast in the event of POS battles) the Coalition can strike at any system and succeed. No matter how well prepared the defenses are. They showed resolve tonight, even with heavy losses they completed the task. And given a little time (if any) they can and probably WILL do it again.
Oh, and if this was a scam. It's probably the biggest one in EvE to date.
If you don't like what I say, just ignore it, or admit I got to you. |

You think that a station system can be taken losing 40 odd dreads per POS? Attacks like this one were mighty impressive and can be repeated, I don't doubt, but they are not sustainable.
And if the POS was empty (and for the purpose of this sentence I don't believe one way or the other), anyone calling this anything but a huge BoB victory is stupid. That is, IF it was empty, which it may or may not have been. - - - - - - - - - -

And they killed alot.. so from their POV that's a success

I wonder what will happen when BoB decides that they don't need to baby sit their systems anymore and goes for coalitions ship yards. Will coalition be able to defend? Because BoB showed that they can bring it too. Anybody can bring a ton of dreads and one cycle a POS. Not losing the dreads in the process is the name of the game. Only time will tell.

What's really amusing is that you believed that thread and the humor in it. If you had an ounce of an idea of what actually went on, you're realize how much fiction that thread contained.
