I swear this is 100% true:
Ok, before the newest patch a couple of tuesdays ago, I had a nice NPCing Apocalypse Battleship. On the Battleship contained 2 armour rigs, a 30% EM and 30% Thermic resistance rig. All was well. However, after the patch I was npcing again and noticed something strange about my battleship. My tank was not holding as well and I had to repair more often than usual, making my capacitor less sustainable. Upon inspection I noticed that, too my horror, the armor resist rigs had actually 'morphed'(as a GM put it), into shield resist rigs. Thinking this was some sort of bug, or joke I petition, fully expecting the rigs to be changed back. Surely its common sense to know that no one in their right mind would shield tank an apoc right?
Well I was wrong. After the usual excuse of 'our logs dont show' this, and to and fro between been and the GM I decided to leave it at that, and look at the funny side. So has anyone else experienced some kind of wierd morphing going on after patches that are humorous?

my drones play tricks on me all the time. I tell them to attack one ship, if the have to travel further than 15KM im at risk of watching my drones scatter to the four winds. Also I recently lost 3 heavy drones, and a sentry drone to ships that supposedly were shooting at me.... guess i need to pay more attention to what the pesky rats are doing.
as for mods changing what they are, i swear i had that happen to be when i was even more of a noob i bought a whole bunch of prototype rail guns for my brutix the next day when i was fitting them the magically turned into railgun 1's petition met with the same responce.
But due to the alcohol i imbibed the night i bought the rails i dont think i could be sure of anything i did, and the fact that i still had a ship was probably divine intervention

You're tanking EM and Therm, so fighting Blood Raiders right? New patch made EW a bit insane, including heavy nossing from long range from Bloods. You always had the wrong rigs fitted, you just never noticed before, but now it's more apparent because your cap isn't holding due to getting nossed to death.

I think you installed the wrong type of rigs and just wanted to hop aboard the anti-CCP-bandwagon and blame CCP for your own mistake.

That might be it. I've run a few lvl.4 missions again for a change with a tech-2 fitted Raven without shield-booster and a Scimitar for remote shield support. They nos'ed my Raven almost dry and I was afraid that the hardeners turn off. I don't know, if the nos effect from npcs should be visible, I probably had all effects off. For some time I was wondering, if my invulnerability fields were sucking so much cap, but then it recovered. ___________ Muuuhhh !!! |

I've never had modules or rigs change but I have seen local user list "bounce" (as if someone joined and then vanished very quickly) then a minute or two later my barge starts flying off in a random direction all on it's own and I have to turn it around and point it back toward the can. Maybe they test for macro's that way? If not maybe they should! ---

no seriously I kid you not. I 100% swear I had armor resist rigs on, reason being Pre-patch I would look at the resistances whilst docked and they worked. Tanking EM/Thermal means I am fighting in Sansha space, not blood, so nos is not a problem. And for the record I actually bought the BS off a corp member who also swears that he had armor rigs on.
If I was anti-ccp I would post some hateage but really I have gotten over that and just wanted to see if anyone else experienced module morphing thats all. I guess some eve players would rather flame than see the funny side to things.

Once, long ago, I lost a Battleship I was SURE I had insured.. which apparently I hadn't. 3 days later, I was in my new battleship, thinking "whew, I won't make that mistake again" and (I thought) insured it. I lost this one too, only to find that it wasn't insured, again.
I'm leaning toward "temporary insanity", but I'll jump on the conspiracy bandwagon for now.

Insurance isn't permanent.
It lasts 4 weeks (?) and then is gone. You probably did insure your ship, but let the insurance lapse.

Had the same problem with some of the Amarr Navy new NPC.
They were nossing at 40 Km range without any visible effect. Not fun when you are in a megathron, if you lose cap in a raven at least your weapons still work.
Killing cruiser (or BC, I am not sure of the exact class) stopped the cap loss.
It is interesting to notice that they were Navy ships, so now other factions than the pirates use EW.
I think I will steer clear of "in the mist of deadspace" for some time.

Probably you hadn't the isk in the wallet for a platinum insurance, tried that and not noticed the system refusing it. Sometime it happens if you do it in automatic cliking ok, ok, ok, without ever bothering to read.

Edited by: Supay on 31/03/2007 11:28:36 The OP could very well be right. CCP have had database errors in the past that have swapped the types of modules or ammo loaded on a ship, sometimes putting completely impossible ammo types into a particular weapon.
I logged in one day and discovered that the T2 blaster ammo I had loaded into my T2 blasters the night before had morphed into T2 railgun ammo. I tried loading another ship's T2 blasters with T2 railgun ammo and it refused to do it, yet here I had a ship happily sitting there with the guns loaded with an incompatible ammo.
It's happened to other friends of mine too and it's really bizarre, so I can easily imagine it happening to rigs too.
