First of all, yes a little more info from the devs beyond the nice storyline news reports should be done. There are a lot of valid complaints that have not been answered.
Oh and about this...

Seriously, "petitions" are generally designed to call attention to things that people aren't doing well. The DeVs participate daily in forum discussions and I don't think we need to pressure them into spending any more time on the boards than they already do.
Go check out the http://www.camelotherald.com/index.shtml ofr an example of how a different game keeps in touch with its players. Look through the archives and you will see a new post (or 2 or 3) every day. Also if you could please show me where EVE devs actually post besides the dev blog every 3 or 4 days please let me know.

I agree, DEV response to this is required for the continued support of this game by many ppl, including myself.
I honestly have my gripes about Castor, but i will keep them to myself. For the betterment of the game players and DEVs should be working together on this......
I may be blind or dumb ;), but i havn't seen any post Castor brainstorming attempts by the DEVs to tweek this patch. And regardless of what you think, a tweeked Castor meens a higher % of players will once again enjoy playing...

That line simply insn't true.
In the last days CCP has tried to solve some high-level nasty bug with agents. That's ok.
Communication is a complete different thing.
Personally it's from beta that I complain about communication. I don't complain about it during the holiday.
There are unsolved bugs that are never being solved. Even the tutorial missions are screwed and devs don't know or don't care.
There's zero discussion between devs and players aside some sporadic precise problem.
Other companies out there deal with this problem in different ways. They all do that wrong but better than CCP.
DaoC has team leaders with periodical reports, discussions and feedback. Plus daily updates on their site.
SWG is completely built around communication with tons of devs post every day entering discussions, delving with problems, deep analysis etc.. Plus team leaders and private forums to discuss tightly about the status.
Ultima Online isn't perfect but Devs talk quite a bit on Stratics forums. Answering about bugs and the state of the game.
And I'm in Wish Beta from the start of Beta 1.
Gladly it's the opposite of the disastrous Eve-Beta. Devs are there to answer and discuss.
We don't have to *fight* to talk about problems and discuss with devs about solutions.
We are helping to develop a game and not, as in Eve, to just load the server to test the lag.
Nothing I've written In Eve beta has been considered by devs. Nor my bugs reports considering that lot of them are still present after a whole year.
Compare this with the 130 *long* posts me and everyone else in Wish beta is writing with Devs feedback and you'll understand what communication really is.
The only way to *communicate* with CCP is when there's an impassable bug that produces 12 pages of posts.
That's why noone, nor the devs, care that the Tutorial missions for newbies are completely screwed.
That's why the population of Eve will slowly decrease and everyone else, like you, will tell that the responsibility is about the marketing and not about the game.

youve got issues then man, not the boards, because I can get into it in about 5 seconds or less on any one of 5 different computers using 2 completely seperate internet connections.

Well I can say I love it both as a NPC Hunter and Miner in 0.0 and people have been screaming "Rats are too tough you cant mine mwaaaahhhh". I'd love to know how I solo mined 12,082 units of Arkanor solo then is all I'm saying.
On NPC Rat Hunting it's new tactics with the rats having EW and MWDs too... but it's still possible to do and make a profit.
Only thing I cant say about is the pvp and agents as I havent tackled them yet but be sure I will do.

Hey...everyone who's 'petioning' (a.k.a complaining! :P)
As far as I know, this was one of the best executed patches by CCP, and it was a damn big patch. Now, I don't know if anyone noticed, but it's actually CHRISTMAS. I think everyone at CCP did a damn good job with Castor, and why the Hell is someone posting a thread on Christmas eve to petition to the Dev's?!?
Give the guys (and gals) a break, let them enjoy Christmas away from the blood-hungry, never-satisfied a-holes, and also to anyone else who's complaining tonight, maybe this is your clue to leave EVE for 5 mins! It's Christmas, after all.....
