Hi all
i know this is like the 1.000.000th raven thread out there but i am having trouble tanking this puppy
i am trying 2 run a XL-Booster T2 but my cap ceeps failing
here is my setup
Hi
2x Large NOS
Med
1x XL-booster T2
3x Rat hardners T2
2x Cap Recharger T2
and 3x CCC rig..
and with all that i can't hold the XL + the hardners for longer then 6 minutes..
does any one have any idea how i am able 2 get a perma tank withou the GIST x thingy of like 900M / 1.3B
(sorry for my englis, am dutch)

never bothered to perma tank ravens most groups of npcs are dead before i ever needed to use the tank fully or I'd just warp out. Just have 1 XL 1 amp 4 hardener and 5 PDS II in lows :)

not going to happen....
you could get a gisti large to perma run, but not happening with the XL, if you want to perma tank then armor tank the raven.
or
1 gisti type-b lrg booster
2 faction boost amps
3 x rat specifi hardeners
will work alot better, doesn't run perm but shield tanks are not meant to.

With this set up I can do almost all of the LvL4 mission. You will need most of your saport skills at 4 or 5 if you dont want to have to warp out. With the Hardeners you get 70+ to all stats you can do 75% of all lvl4. You will need to swap out the hardeners on a few of the mission.
You can run the shild for about 5 mins. if your nosing 2 BS it runs for a lot longer. But if you do the misison right you should never have to run it in tell your out of cap.
Just kills the BS/BC and let your drons kille the rest off.

1x EM Hardeners II ( swap if needed )
1x Therm Hardener II ( swap if needed )
2x Invuln Hardener II
1x XL Shield Booster II
1x L Shield Extenders II ( or Amp )

Highs: 6x Cruise (Named) 1x Tractor 1x Heavy Nos (Named)
Mids: 1x Lge Tech II SB 1x SB Amp 4x Rat Specific Hardners (Named)
Lows: 2x BC Tech II 3x Power Diagnostics Tech II
Rigs: 3x Cap Control Circuits
With my skills at around lvl 4 for all the shield and Cap skills and a head of 3% Gnome Implants I can permatank this setup as long as the Nos is running and with the Nos off it will run for quite a long time (20 minutes or so but I have never Timed it). If you drop the Ballistic Controls I would not be surprised it it would run permanently with an extra 2 Power Diag II's
Do not use an XL booster unless it is a Gisti B type as Tech II/Named use too much cap to be left on permanently.
Also if you get the 5% Gnome Implants and Get lvl 5 in all your shild/Cap skills
this will further increase your ability to Permatank using more cap intensive Modules. However what I have listed above is a relatively cheap setup for a Raven and has not Failed me yet. it even Saved me today as I was Mission Running in Motsu and due to lag could not Activate my Modules to kill Rats. As my tank was already Running however I was able to sustain the damage (tank was at 50% when the lag Sorted itself out) until the lag passed and my drones started thinning out the rats. It took about 5 minutes for the lag to pass and it was a Pirate Slaughter 1st stage, Full room aggro.

The only way you will get a perma-tank on a raven is with a Gisti XL booster. Or if you do something silly like fit CPRs, or undersized (e.g large) shield boosters.
The raven just can't pull the juice to keep up with a booster.
Oh, but if you're looking at shield boosting, Core Defense Capacitor Sa***uards are actually better for your cap than CCCs.
So, basically, you can't. Don't bother trying. The only way you get permatanking on a raven is passive tanking, and that's pretty much just plain worse.

Agreed if you want to use a XL booster. Faction items are nice but if you run level 4 missions it can be done with a large Tech II and a Shield Boost Amp. Just make sure you manage your Agro and dont turn off the Shieldbooster. 3% implants help and they are fairly cheap on market. Use your nos as soon as a Battlecruiser or Battleship is in range and dont kill that ship till last
