Edited by: Redpillz on 31/03/2007 10:25:46 I'm a mission runner mostly(I don't typically enjoy PvP), and I have to say I fully support a kind of "Sandbox" ruleset for this game. That said, I am somewhat disappointed in a segment of the player base known as "Pirates," people who operate outside the bounds of the law, who often engage other players in hopelessly unbalanced fights, and do things from demanding ransom for their survival to blowing them out of the skies for the sheer enjoyment of it.
My main beef is, simply, this: Where are you guys/gals?
I hear all sorts of talk about such things as ganking in high-sec space and insidious gate camping. Don't get me wrong, I've been ganked several times, but I was a noob then(I still am a noob, but I'm talking trial-account noobishness here). Looking back, a halfway intelligent, even lightly-experienced player would have been able to either prevent or escape from the attacks. Right now, I fear no pirates. Where is the sense of danger?
Pirates of Eve, step it up! you are tasked with keeping people on their toes, and inserting a cloud into every silver lining. You have an obligation to the community, and right now you are falling short!

Edited by: J''Max on 31/03/2007 10:36:54 Edited by: J''Max on 31/03/2007 10:34:38 Well first off theere are pirates everywhere, you just have to get into the right system, try these
Yvang to Gare (solar system search )
Well first off start from Yvang then set a waypoint up to gare. Follow that path an you shall meet the pirates you are looking for. Also it's very close to Syndicate... which isn't a very nice place as most people will tell you.
Or if thats not good enough, there is always pirate action around the Molden Heath region...
Hope this helps
BIG EDIT - First off young Skywalker, you must be one with the force & leave high sec systems.

I'll scope out some of the systems you mention, thanks.

Also, I guess it might be unreasonable for me to expect there to be pirates everywhere. After all, it is a big universe.
If you want some pirate action, just fly over to Decon, and sit in a belt for about 5 minutes. You should probably find yourself back in the clone station in short order. :)
There are plenty of systems with pirates in them, but I'd say something like 90% of the low-sec systems don't have anyone in them. No pirates, no non-pirates, no nothing.
look for low-sec systems with high amounts of player ship and pod kills. Then fly directly to that location. Poof, you've found pirates.
Also, pirates, like myself, tend to try and find those horrible scumbags otherwise known as mission runners. If you find a whole pile of high end agents in low sec, I'm sure you'll find some mission runners, and the fat drooling brain dead cows always attract wolves at some point.
Because I said so...

Oh, and as for falling short- every time I log in or fly to a system (with any one of my characters), everyone docks up or logs. Within 30 seconds or less. I'd say I'm doing my part to keep Eve dangerous.

Well to be perfectly fair, Murder One was directly refuting what was essentially a sweeping challenge that I issued. Therefore, in my opinion, the issue should be not that the statement is self-inflating, but whether or not it is true.

As a few people may know, Placid is rumoured to be the arse end of the universe. You can't undock without bumping into a pirate.
Of late, even Placid's dead. I mean there's us, and [THEM] and.. er...
I saw a guy from Veto here a few days ago, does that count?

Fly from Esa to Unity if you are looking for "excitement". I swear, that pipe changes hands daily, it seems. Or trash around in a Hauler in Egg. Or fly to Torrinos, catch your breath, and jump north. Or Hang around in Obe or P3 for a bit, that'll cure ya.

If you want to die so badly (and what is it with these carebears asking "Where's the pirates" in the forums?) then look at your map, find most podkills in last hour, go there. Or goto Jita with a BPO or implants in your cargo, let simmer 5 min, and voila your in a pod.

I can go into Jita and wait about 8 seconds and be in a pod... ----- :::Need to be cleaned:::

lolz so many of these threads cropping up recently.
The answer is that certain systems that are pirating hotspots have plenty of piwates in and regular camps. The systems u frequent are probably not that busy so decent corps don't tend to run patrols through them.
If you were mission running/npc'ing or whatever in some the systems usually close to or in between high sec hubs then u don't last too long.
