The smell of fear and pathetic desperation permeates the 'Verse as corporations swallow the red pill and wrap themselves in the holy mantra of "Maximum Profit No Matter the Cost!". Quality is a forgotten concept as short term and short sighted changes are made helter-skelter then altered again when revenue fails to meet expectations. The old, stodgy and moderately profitable base is ignored in hyper flamed pursuit of youthful eyes and wallets as CCP charts it's new vector towards "Angry Aliens" or some such silliness. High performance creations are torn down and discarded in favor of fluff-like changes that disrupt the rhythm and quality of game play.
Even though Ascension's implementation was flawed that's not really the point I'm attempting to make. Yes, I had to reinstall one account, along with the log in hassle and yes, the new voice is grating, and I'm reasonably sure I'll run into more speed bumps as we trip lightly down the yellow brick road.
But the question in my mind is why these constant major expansions are even necessary? I can understand the occasional patch job to deal with the normal glitches, bugs and player exploits but ripping whole segments out that work really well just to insert a glitzier version (think character sheets) simply does not make sense.
Game complexity has out stripped my admittedly low dose mental abilities, I am now something called an Omega clone with abilities I have no clue what to do with. Along with Plex, Arum, implants, extractors, more clone types, strategies, tactics and things people write about in the forums along with all those mysterious abbreviations that mean not that much to me I am beginning to feel like I missed the two year college course that is required to play this game.
No, I'm not quitting, and no, you can't have my stuff (you know who you are) but I would love to see CCP allow this big beautiful game to stabilize itself to the point where normal people like me can reasonably expect to achieve some sort of mastery before it's all ripped out for new stuff just to have new stuff. A couple new things every year or so should be enough to keep the drama queens happy, especially as there is so much to do that old space can become new space just by changing game objectives.

Point apparently missed by all, let me rephrase it so even Eve players can understand: 12345678 (Translation: !@#$%^&*) Ya Got It? Damn!!!!
