hm..... I was browsing through the recent MD posts and ran across this - I must have missed it.
Here is a simple fact.
RAW23 managed to get uncollateralised bond recently, right here on MD.
You are not getting any loans from anyone, right here on MD.
I don't know, I'm in the middle of my first bond and my bond is fully collateralised and the collateral is held by the most (perhaps now the only?) trusted third party in EVE. Actually, some of the very same people who posted here being skeptical about loaning to you have invested in my bond. So there obviously is a way to get this done. Either be like RAW23 and be able to get uncollateralised loans, or be like me (a scrub XD) and offer collateral.

Hm I dunno RAW23 personally and I never invested or got investment from him so I don't know what to say about that.
But my point about having collateral is still valid I think. For example. Bad Bobby, is a known scammer for sure lol. But he invested in my bond because (I think) my bond had proper collateral held by a well trusted third party. It probably didn't matter to him who I was.
And I probably would do the same if the situation was reversed. I wouldn't mind investing/lending to a known scammer if the collateral is legit and is held by someone I can definitely trust.
And even if someone really is a scammer, there are different relationships that can put things into different perspectives. I know of people in EVE who have history of scamming and theft, but my relationships with them stretch well beyond EVE, both in the number of years and in the ways we've known each other, so 'for me' they are as trust-able as anyone can be.
I can't judge someone I don't know, so I don't really know what to think of RAW23. It was just general observation from what I've seen, but yeah, people probably shouldn't take that as an advice (but I don't think anybody takes it that way heh).

lol Tau, Thanks for the clarification. I was a bit taken back when 'I thought' you were actually accusing RAW23 of scamming, because I had no dealings with him but I've never seen anyone claim that here before. I really do need 'explanation for idiots' to make sense of things at times heh XD
