pre- update, a fully boosted orca (with the pilot having the mindlink implant) supporting a T2 yield fit hulk with the pilot having the MX-1005 implant, the hulks yield was:-
turret cycle time - 69.9s
turret yield - 1924m3
1924 / 69.9 = 27.52m3/s
27.52 x 60 = 1651m3/min
1651 x 2 = 3303m3/min
post update, with the T2 range/cycle time command bursts, the hulks yield is now:-
turret cycle time - 61.5x
turret yield - 1673ms
1673 / 61.5 = 27.20m3/s
27.20 x 60 = 1632mx
1632 x 2 = 3264m3/min
so yes, the new command burst system has slightly nerfed mining yield for barges/exhumers (unless i'm missing a skill somewhere!!)
however, the mining drone bonus that the orca now has could add over 900m3/min to that with 5 x T2 mining drones (if you were sat right on top of the 'roid they're mining!!)
there's a lot more micro-managing involved now but, i'm getting an extra 20-30km3 per 45min sessions (gotta take a break every now and then  )
tip - right click-> turn off auto-repeat on your command burst modules and watch the blue icon on your miner. re-activate 'bursts just before it runs out

In that case isn't the answer "fly a skiff" now? Beyond that I can't really say because I never mined extensively back then.
On a side note I don't think I've even had a serious mining ship under 50k EHP so maybe I'm doing it wrong. |

The issue isn't enjoying mining or not, personally. It's that whatever else I'm doing doesn't fully occupy me mentally and mining is just active enough to fill in the gaps.

No of course not. That is the whole point, you have to compare things that are the same or similar, unless CCP are going to release figures of how much alphas mined and then separate data on what omegas mined. It is useless.
That is the only way the data would be valid at which point, it would show if the level of mining by Omegas had been nerfed.
And I doubt very highly that they will do that. Lets just say it would be extremely improbable.

Ok fixed and yes that was me looking like an idiot. 
For the mining changes. I see no problems. My Orca has more tank than a fully tanked freighter, I am happy with the amounts I get and my skiffs have ehps higher than 100k.
The burst duration is a bit silly but buggered if I can be bothered pausing them every minute for 30 seconds.

Back then the hulk topped out at 45k ehp before you became profitable to gank due to bling. We are now in a strange position where 4 of the barges struggle to fit a tank while 2 are massively over tanked. Add in the lack of adaptability and the poor way the 3 classes of tank, yield and hold balance out with each other and it's highly likely we will see a 4th balance pass. |
