Originally by: Par'Gellen http://www.eve-search.com/index.dxd?thread=497466 Originally by: CCP Hammer I fixed at least four bugs this morning and didn't introduce any new bugs. I notice in the defect tracking system that Tuxford has fixed 8 bugs today.
So which ones are they? I don't even see that many fixes listed in the patch notes. I'm very disappointed.
Where is the fix for the new regions' tiny roids?
Where is the fix for drones going stupid all the time?
Where is the fix for the camera resetting after jumping or undocking?
Where is the fix for exploration sites that won't despawn?
Where is the fix for the camera resetting when warping with the system map open?
Where is the fix for the missing salvager turret effect?
Where is the fix for how bad the Moa looks? (Ok I threw that one in to lighten the mood. Damn though, has any dev actually looked at it? It's hideous! )
HOlY crap why dont we give ccp a longer list of fixs. There working on it all now just because theres a new patch doesent mean everythings Fixed.

Nice, no bug fixes. How about camera reset on session changes? How about a new font so we can actually read the system names?

...will always deliver alternative methods of patching when YOU have trouble doing it the normal way
@ccp. its sad you delete my posts. i never meant any harm. ui only like to HELP ppl. and my clickcounter shows that i do a good job in that.. hell i even offered you to sign ANY papers regarding security like "if i ever put a trojan in it you can sue me to hell".. you ignored that... dont you want your playerbase be happy? i know that patches are a stress to the pc and that some ppl cant patch at all, and i know that my patch cant solve all cases since its just a pc problem, but in "some" cases it WILL help ppl who CAN patcj where they coucldnt using your method..and you KNOW your servers arent working 100%.... i dotn mean no harm ffs :(

Well I would but I wasn't trying to be a complete arse. They know what the bugs are (they better because I've submitted them myself). They just can't seem to prioritize them correctly. When you have bugs that make you look like you don't know what you are doing and are seen by your entire customer base then they should be at the top of the list. Then we get patches like this that don't even address them. Or worse, patches that claim to fix things and DON'T!
Enter the disappointed feedback. It's a no-brainer. ---

I'm not an expert on bugs and how they get fixed, but first you have to submit a bug report. Doing that is more complicated than people think, as you can see in the Easy steps to bugreporting thread. And if you don't submit a correct bug report, we can't use it. Unfortunately the majority of bugreports doesn't contain enough information for us to use it. You can read the full process in the thread I linked above.
But even when that's done, it's not like every bug takes one guy exactly 5 hours to fix, some of the bugs might be easy to fix, some might take weeks or more. So it's really not as easy to fix the bugs as some people seem to think.

Is there even the faintest chance that tech II drones will ever be inventable, or are medium tech II drones "supposed" to cost as much as a cruiser? -- Not the opinions of my corp or my alliance. |

Firstly, apologies to Wrangler.
Secondly, I appear to have left Playerland and am now residing in La-la-land.
Today (hell at least I think it's today?) IS in fact Tuesday 2nd April. Doh!
See! That's what happens when you train Advanced Muppetry to level 5
Thanks for being gentle with me Wrangler

Hmm, but aren't you devs playing EVE for exactly these reason that you find bugs, inappropriate user interfaces and all such stuff? Playing Eve to have first-hand knowledge and not being dependant on crappy bug reports? To see where the really big problems are?
Ah well, never mind.
Each patch removes some bugs, improves Eve and so it is something worth in itself already.

Edited by: Avid Amari on 03/04/2007 12:41:19 Many people are correct when it comes to priorities CCP seems to be having.
First off, FIX existing bugs god damn it, dont add new features as a priority. BUGS first then new stuff. LOL
And yes since more and more people have Vista, make it a priority focus. WinXP is outdated for a loong time, sure its fine system with SP2 and all, but look onwards, not backwards.
Too many people still experience graphics and sound problems, and too many have LAG and disconnecting issues. Dont swoop all this under the carpet and divert attention from reall issues going "Look new patch brings all these nice features, rejoice". Get your priorities straight.

LOL! Whoever uses vista before SP1 is dumb and deserves all the problems they get. It's been proven time and again that Microsoft can't put out a usable operating system at first. Wait for a service pack, THEN start crying because in all probability it's Microsoft's fault, not CCP's.
Why not try Linux with WINE? It's probably just as crappy but costs less.
