Edited by: Damon Ra on 02/04/2007 11:25:25 The patch notes makes no mention at all of any bug fixes.
So, does this in fact mean we'll be waiting a month or more for the various market an UI bugs to be fixed that were introduced with the last patch?

Can we please fix some of the annoying issues that the last patch caused that have made my game far less enjoyable. I don't need new content I can't play because the interface is busted.

http://www.eve-search.com/index.dxd?thread=497466 Originally by: CCP Hammer I fixed at least four bugs this morning and didn't introduce any new bugs. I notice in the defect tracking system that Tuxford has fixed 8 bugs today.
So which ones are they? I don't even see that many fixes listed in the patch notes. I'm very disappointed.
Where is the fix for the new regions' tiny roids?
Where is the fix for drones going stupid all the time?
Where is the fix for the camera resetting after jumping or undocking?
Where is the fix for exploration sites that won't despawn?
Where is the fix for the camera resetting when warping with the system map open?
Where is the fix for the missing salvager turret effect?
Where is the fix for how bad the Moa looks? (Ok I threw that one in to lighten the mood. Damn though, has any dev actually looked at it? It's hideous! ) ---

great more lag with the voice comms. and do we really need more rookie missions? how about server upgrades. and moving some agents out of jita to make the lag less.
but no ccp wants more money for a game that barely works now. stop adding until you fix waht is broken now.

All you guys that complain about no bugfixes in the patch. What would you call these: - Introduction movie subtitles are now correct for all languages supported. - Issues with the Stasis Drone Augmentor I & II modules have been resolved. - Some dungeon Federation Navy NPC frigates were piloting Caldari ships. These pilots have received reprimands and now pilot only the Federation's finest ships. - The following items should now be available in contract item list: [snipped list] - Large Energy Transfer II BPO material requirement includes the required Large Energy Transfer I module. - Bustards are now associated with the Badger MK II for invention purposes as the BPC requirement. - The Overdrive II module can now be invented from the Overdrive I
Granted they are not huge, but they are still bugs that got fixed.
However it would be nice though if there was an up-to-date list of the to-do list, so that everyone can see when their most hated bug will get fixed. ----- http://games.chruker.dk/eve_online ----- Top 3 wishes: 1: No daily downtime. 2: Updated dump of the database. 3: An update of the ingame browser, to fix ex: slow tables. |

Personally, I'd call them unnecessary, because none of that stuff existed/worked before the last patch that screwed-up the client UI and *existing* features.
It just shows how much CCP tests their game patches prior to release and how big a priority bugs that break existing features are, compared to adding eye candy or features to obtain new subs.

I'd really like to see the corp wallet entries for corp contracts fixed ASAP. When you create a corp contract, the fees don't show as deducted, but the balance does change. When you make a sale, sometimes it shows the addition line and taxes line, but sometimes not.
It's a bit of a pain, and it doesn't help that the corp wallet doesn't have its own TRANSACTIONS tab, considering it as an entity often buys/sells, even if it goes through a player.

True, but those aren't the "high profile" bugs everyone and their brother wants to see fixed.
However, with CCP's recent patch track record if any of the listed items in the patch notes are actually in the game after the patch I'll eat my Maller BPO. ---

No, Monday is the 2nd of April, Tuesday is the 3rd of April. At least according to this calendar, not to mention my own calendar.

We are trying to make sure these things are announced as fast as possible, unfortunately we didn't get all the information in time, but we'll work harder to make sure it's not announced this close to patch day in the future.

you DO realiaze that some ppkl HAVE trouble downliading from your site and nerfing ME means you hurt a lot of ppl who rely on mirrors.. good job in "preventing" damage (what damage? i dont hurt anyone) by letting hundreds of ppl not into the game at all :P

Lol, seems you managed to add one of the two missing drone rig BPOs.
Hopefully you will add the EW Drone Range Augmentor I / II in the nextÖ patch.

It's hideous! )
HOlY crap why dont we give ccp a longer list of fixs. There working on it all now just because theres a new patch doesent mean everythings Fixed.

Nice, no bug fixes. How about camera reset on session changes? How about a new font so we can actually read the system names?

@ccp. its sad you delete my posts. i never meant any harm. ui only like to HELP ppl. and my clickcounter shows that i do a good job in that.. hell i even offered you to sign ANY papers regarding security like "if i ever put a trojan in it you can sue me to hell".. you ignored that... dont you want your playerbase be happy? i know that patches are a stress to the pc and that some ppl cant patch at all, and i know that my patch cant solve all cases since its just a pc problem, but in "some" cases it WILL help ppl who CAN patcj where they coucldnt using your method..and you KNOW your servers arent working 100%.... i dotn mean no harm ffs :(

Well I would but I wasn't trying to be a complete arse. They know what the bugs are (they better because I've submitted them myself). They just can't seem to prioritize them correctly. When you have bugs that make you look like you don't know what you are doing and are seen by your entire customer base then they should be at the top of the list. Then we get patches like this that don't even address them. Or worse, patches that claim to fix things and DON'T!
Enter the disappointed feedback. It's a no-brainer. ---

I'm not an expert on bugs and how they get fixed, but first you have to submit a bug report. Doing that is more complicated than people think, as you can see in the Easy steps to bugreporting thread. And if you don't submit a correct bug report, we can't use it. Unfortunately the majority of bugreports doesn't contain enough information for us to use it. You can read the full process in the thread I linked above.
But even when that's done, it's not like every bug takes one guy exactly 5 hours to fix, some of the bugs might be easy to fix, some might take weeks or more. So it's really not as easy to fix the bugs as some people seem to think.

Hmm, but aren't you devs playing EVE for exactly these reason that you find bugs, inappropriate user interfaces and all such stuff? Playing Eve to have first-hand knowledge and not being dependant on crappy bug reports? To see where the really big problems are?
Ah well, never mind.
Each patch removes some bugs, improves Eve and so it is something worth in itself already.

Edited by: Avid Amari on 03/04/2007 12:41:19 Many people are correct when it comes to priorities CCP seems to be having.
First off, FIX existing bugs god damn it, dont add new features as a priority. BUGS first then new stuff. LOL
And yes since more and more people have Vista, make it a priority focus. WinXP is outdated for a loong time, sure its fine system with SP2 and all, but look onwards, not backwards.
Too many people still experience graphics and sound problems, and too many have LAG and disconnecting issues. Dont swoop all this under the carpet and divert attention from reall issues going "Look new patch brings all these nice features, rejoice". Get your priorities straight.

LOL! Whoever uses vista before SP1 is dumb and deserves all the problems they get. It's been proven time and again that Microsoft can't put out a usable operating system at first. Wait for a service pack, THEN start crying because in all probability it's Microsoft's fault, not CCP's.
Why not try Linux with WINE? It's probably just as crappy but costs less.
