Looks good, and well implemented. Itll be excellent if you get a decent amount of people regularly visiting, but I wouldn't hold your breath. Hope it works though, good luck.

spending a bit on eve-radio ad's to hopefully get a slight boost in users, gonna spend most of my free time sending out eve-mails to all the people requesting and offering services (not more than once ofcourse )
But thnx for the commpliment.
I do hope it takes off, and if not i'll keep it running as it will look good in my portfolio.

Edited by: LLeBRing on 03/04/2007 03:27:36 I think the idea is solid and unique, which in and of itself will go a long way with some first mover advantages. I think with proper advertising, you'll certainly be able to reach an audience. How aggressive you are in this is obviously up to you.
I do have some comments, and i'm not sure as I would classify them as recommendations because I am no expert, furthermore, this is not a recommendations thread. Still though, I feel compelled to reply. My first one gripe, make the site and all it's content, including the forums available to guests. I for one cannot stand a site that does not allow me to see all it's content and features before I can register. If you want to restrict posting to registered, that's fine, but all content should be viewable. If I did not feel compelled to reply, I likely would not visit your site again.
Also, I dislike joomla/joomster, it's a portal system that looks and feels like a portal. I would like to see your site coded from scratch or using a cms which allows you to get rid of all those portal modules/plugins.
I think it has potential, I think it depends on how aggressive you are with your advertising, and I think you can make this work :)

Thnx for the suggestions, atm i am the process of restricting posting privilages for the forums so it can be viewed by the public and i also agree with you about seeing the website before signing up so thnx for the tip.
Maybe in the future if its feasable with my RL i will see about coding the site out of joomla, the thing i like is the back-end and intergration that joomla CMS provides for me. i will certainly think about having the site recoded out of joomla to give it a more original feel, but that will definatly be a long term objective.

Hmm, ill have a loot at the backup site in those fonts and see what it looks like, only problem with changing the fonts is there is a chance that not all fonts will change as there are quite a few CSS files floating around the site for different area's.

That's a great idea for a website, hopefully it'll catch on. I'll keep it bookmarked for when I'm looking for services.

You -seriously- need to take care of your spelling and grammar, both on your post and on your main site. Some players might get worried about "services" being maintained by almost illiterate individuals.

Thanks for the tip, unfortunately I was not the best when it came to spelling and grammar Could you please point out where my mistakes are if I have missed them, would be really appreciated.
On a side note though, the service ads are maintained by the user who created them, I have no influence over what is created

p.s I am running my posts and site material through a spell checker atm to wrinkle out any mistakes and in the future I will use a spell checker before posting.

I <3 Firefox 2.0 because it has a built in spellchecker for all fields. Makes things so much easier for me.
