New players or alpha clones -find a group to run lvl 4 missions and cycle till you get "Silence the Informant". This mission drops Elite Drone AIs that are worth upwards of 75,000,000 isk. That means ~15 or so of these missions mean a plex. Tell your friends, get your buddies grouped up, and herd this mission while the prices are high!
Elite Drone AIs also come from drone NPC complexes but that requires null sec access.

So, you're saying that alpha's should grind their way to be able to do lvl 4's, and then espacially do the "Silence the Informant"?
What are you going to tell them, when they realise that missions are handed out from a pool of missions and that the frequency of that particular mission are quite low?

Hes saying it to drop the price so that they become cheaper. Excavators require 50 of these babies each to make ONE drone. Its 3/4 of an excavators price atm due to the cost involved building them. He wishes to crash that market.

I was unsubbed for almost 2 years, a little out of the loop, so please forgive me if I'm ruining a perfectly fine scam here, but I got to ask: is there now an actual use for those items that justifies the price tag or is this still the same old margin trade scam it was 2 years ago?

They are used for the new mining drones. When they first went on the market a year or more back they were around 250k each or thereabouts in Jita. At that time they were only used in making the 'Augmented' and / or 'Integrated' drones, the BPC for which are found in drone sites. Since CCP added them to the materials for the new mining/excavator drones they have rocketed up in price just due to the huge increase in demand and fairly static supply.
Silence the Informant 4 drops 5 on them so it's a nice bonus with the current prices. |

There should be huge stockpiles. This was an item that had no value or was used in market scams often. I bet a lot of mission runners have stashed that they ever touched. |

It's hard to know if this market will ever crash. I pick up millions of ISK in T2 Hobs all the time. It doesn't seem to matter how much ISK they are running, people will warp off and leave them.
It's possible the 22K purchase was done on a whim as well. I came back to 6000 T2 drone transceivers that I bought at 5K ISK each. They are at 800K right now. It's one of the things I always liked about EVE Online. Nothing you gather is truly junk. Unlike other games where you will spend hours, weeks leveling up and accumulating true garbage in the process, in EVE it all has a purpose. (not including pirate dog tags. They were destined to be eternal junk)
As for the grouping for level 4's. Level 3 and 4 groups for Alpha will benefit them. Between LP and Insignia farming, people will accomplish more in small, trust worthy fleets than they will solo. I'm not sure it will ever be a thing though. |

A Caracal is able to kill those 5 rats. You don't have to finish that mission nor do you need to run any other lvl4 mission. All you need is the faction standing to talk to loads of agents. Getting there will take an alpha a few weeks and by that time the Russians will have farmed the price of that item back to where it where 2 weeks ago.
If you take all the sand out of the box, only the cat poo will remain.

And your standings would drop more quickly than you'd be able to keep repeating the mission. You would have to skip missions to get to that one so many times, that your factions standings wouldn't be high enough anymore to even accept level 4s. Is this a joke? I'm starting to think this guy's actually trying to get people to grind out this particular item. If so... it's extremely, extremely depressing. And it furthermore makes me even more depressed because it's actually affecting my mood. Not cool, man.
Just bite the bullet, and pay the price. I didn't like the idea of buying a Faction shield booster for my Phantasm, but hey... it is what it is.

One piece of advice, I wish I'd have done in retrospect... I had 3 to 4X as many as any of the lower priced sell orders in Jita. I put up my sell order and they were bought within minutes ignoring the .01 isk game, the lower qty orders that were slightly cheaper were skipped in favor of mine. I wish I'd have charged more.

Yeah that "Guy" was me... all the spikes on all drones mats from fanfest onwards was me  sold half used half to build an army of mining drones for u all to enjoy
and no "insider" knowledge other than a bit of smarts and good listening...
it was a small part of the Keynote stream at Fanfest the ccp guy on stage was like "hey guys Rorq will be awesome and have mega drones that will use """drone mats""" to build... so that day and since then I invested big in all 7 mats. as well as ALOT of other items

What I will say is the high price is due to the fact that the 'Excavator' Drones are just SOOOO good at what they do and tbh even the aug drones are 9% better over T2, so you have 4 new sinks for the 7 mats

They are soo far above any other method of mining, and that should cost a lot... I am guessing the 7 drones mats will be high priced (new price) for along time to come...
While I agree these Exc drones should cost a lot in total to build... what I will say is Elite AI's are a bit Redic at 15m each and I would like to see the cost of these drones shifted and evened out on to all 7 of the drone mats... maybe give us better drops or more ways to find Elite AI's to help out supply.
My projections show that with the new sinks in place, and how good all 4 of these drones are, on top of the fact all 7 mats will still have all the old sinks for them... I only see the price going up on all 7 drone mats for at least the next few months !! even after that point these 7 Mats will always sell good and never be the price they was, this is always the way of things, when they add new stuff that's good to the game.
On the up side drone space got a buff, I always felt drone faction spawns was always a bit Meh vs other Npc's, now they are up to par in a more pay out via drone mats rather than hope for faction drop way
