Thanks in advance
The question is the placement requirements re: standings with the faction in question. I want to place a pos in a system with a true sec standing of approx 0.57 while I (my alt actually) have a standing of 5.35 with that faction. Is it 10x the true security or 10x the base (in this case 0.5)? Will i be able to drop the pos and anchor and online it?
Kind Regards

What you need is for your CORPS standing to be at least 10x the system's security status, in this case it needs to have at least a 5.0 with that faction. Your personal, unadjusted, standings are only important in that its used to calculate your corp standings.

Connections doesnt count towards your personal amounts when averaged to the corp standing.
Also if a person has no standing i.e. there is no caldari state under factions section in liked or disliked, then they do not count i.e. alts or producers

So could you leave your corp and setup your POS and then get back into your corp and still being able to control the POS, even if the standing would not be 10x?
Thanks

POSs are corporate-only, so it would be owned by the corp in which you anchored the POS. You need everyone except the people with high standings to leave the corp, then rejoin after anchoring.
(If you need Gallente standing, I can offer this...)

My alt is the only member of the corp - sorry I did not make that clear - and therefore his personal standings will become those of the corp, if I remember correctly, the daily change formula is something like (actual member standings - current corp standings)/4 and thus in less than a week the standings of the corp should reflect the standings of the one member.
THanks for all your help

Almost correct. Except for the less then a week part. 0.0 to 5.0+ takes about 9 to 10 days IF your factional standing is like 7 or so. The higher your factional standing is .. the faster it goes. The close it is to the goal .. the longer it takes.
Me being a pessimist is a win-win situation: Either i am right .. or its even better then i said. |

The standing of your corp should go up like this: Use:Current Corp standing:0.0 Your faction standing:7.0 (=average standing of all corp members)
Corp standing will be: Day 1:1.75(= 0 + (7.0 - 0)/4) Day 2:3.06(=1.75 + (7.0 - 1.75)/4) Day 3:4.05(=3.06 + (7.0 - 3.06)/4) Day 4:4.79(=4.05 + (7.0 - 4.05)/4) Day 5:5.34(=4.79 + (7.0 - 4.79)/4)
If you replace the 7.0 by i.e. 5.1 you will see that your corp will need much, much more time to get its standing above 5.0.
A standing of 5.0 should be enough to anchor the POS even if the system has a true sec status of 5.7. Once anchored, the corp standing can drop again below 5.0 without consequences for the POS. That will probably happen if you add new members to your corp.

Next question:
I was thinking about putting up a pos for research/copy/invention in low sec. My next thought was to put up a large tower a la a death/sponge star.
1) Are there any out of the way 0.x systems (above 0.0) that are not within jumpable range by dreads?
2) Is putting up a death/sponge star the equivalent of putting a big fat ole bulls eye on the pos and the one man corp?
3) Between the two, which would you reccomend, sponge star or death star? If you were in a system that was difficult to get dreads to, i would have to believe that a deathstar would be preferrable because without a dread tanking in seige mode, the common wisdow is no bs would survive the deathstar. However, would a deadspace/officer fitting for tanking be capable of survival? You don't see this in 0.0 as dreads take on large pos while bs only are there to support the dreads.

1) All low sec systems are easily acsessible by all capital ships. With jump range skills at reasonable level you can in some cases cover region you are in and half of adjacent regions in one jump. 2) Large POS is not quite bullseye if you have reasonable setup. You would need to **** someone quite off so that they would go for it. Full grid of lab arrays however might make it quite target as it means you are sacrificing some defence to do that. 3) I would reccomend get high sec pos for R&D. Especially if you would have one man corp running it. There are few guys out there making corporations with good stadnings for sale. And some guys with stellar faction standings willing to yoin your one man corp until it gets high enough stanings for high sec pos -- for a reasonable fee ofcource. That fee is however usually smaller than price of large 'death star' POS

Edited by: Johnathan Harker on 05/04/2007 14:08:08 With regard to standings for a new Corp, I have been having some serious issues. I am the only member of the Corp since inception, with a personal standing of 7.2 with the Caldari State. It has been 22 days and still no Corp standings with the Caldari State. I petitioned and keep getting canned responses about doing missions and storyline missions. I have run a number of missions and a storyline mission over a week ago, and still no standing with the Caldari State. Of course, my missions are with Caldari Navy, with whom I have 9.9 standing. My Corp positive standings for Caldari Navy and my main agent have increased several times, as have the negative standings with Guristas, Gurista Pirates, etc. Any ideas?

Try the following
Run missions until you get a storyline mission. Do storyline mission and complete successfully. Once completed, open up your corporations tab, then click on politics, go to standings and then liked by. Double click on the line you are neutral to everyone and hopefully a dialog box will open up with many options. Scroll down to update standings and click on it and see if the missions come up in the window. If they do, see if next dt if your standings appear updated

i have a question about the anchoring part of the hi sec pos
had a friend with hi faction standing create a corp for me a week ago - his personal standings have now migrated to faction standings so we're ready to have him anchor the tower - the plan is for him to anchor, then i join corp, then he leaves...
my question is, can i then anchor/unanchor other pos structures (ie labs) myself once faction standings fall once again? or does my friend need to set up all pos structures fully before he leaves?
thanks

I'm having this exact same problem, I'm trying to get hanger prices to go down on the new corp before shelling out more money than necessary. Tho my corp has only been in for a few days, it's quite annoying.

Only the MachoNet folder in the cache needs to be deleted to clear the standings freeze. You don't need to delete the entire cache. You do need to delete it after every DT to see the daily updates.
