Doesn't matter. That good ol' "either with us or against us" thing is alive and well here.
Walking away from the grave existential threat that is the militia war is just not forgivable, you know...

Walking away from the grave existential threat that is the militia war is just not forgivable, you know... To be fair, if you're not crying woe is me about the Drifters, you get pretty much the same reaction from an even greater majority these days.
At least that majority has a point.

Mizhara Del'thul wrote:Oh not you too, Verin. Is 'unforgivable' really a reasonable reaction to that? We've had this conversation once already and you didn't seem to have gone that far into the wormhole at that point.
I said they have a point, no more than that.
Do I think the Drifters pose such an imminent danger that I need to down tools and grab my gun? No. In fact I think the best place for me in the face of that potential threat is exactly where I am. You never know what we might find as we poke around out here in W-space, and in any case my presence helps safeguard the safety and prosperity of millions of people.
I've worked in teams all my life, and a big part of that is knowing what your strengths are and when to apply them, and knowing what your teammates' strengths are and when to get out of the way and let them apply theirs.
Right now? I know that the two entities I care about the most in K-space - the State and the Republic - are still in a sufficiently strong position that my contribution would be strategically negligible.
Origin on the other hand would suffer quite badly from my absence in a crisis. I'm not going to abandon it unless I have a truly pressing reason to do so.

You appreciate that your sense of tact places you firmly in the minority in this crowd?

I musta been busy not paying attention. What did they do?

Well, that does at least make the Templis Dragonaur comparison a not unfair one, even if the Dragonaurs were rather more successful in their bombings.

I already stamped "you're either with us or against us" on my bingo card, guys. Give me something new, please.
