And again, it appears the Privateers are after some student kills.
Suffice to say that once again we have a large number of students thirsty for blood, and ready for action. And to think, they had all just calmed down after the last 24 hour war a couple of weeks ago.
Its a shame it will be disrupting classes once again, but im sure some of our better known instructors will be leading fleet operations, and holding crash courses in PvP.

The Students and members of the Ivy League will do as they always have done, fight any of our enemies hard and ensure that they pay the price for their aggression.
Once again, the University will provide FREE frigates and destroyers, including the modules needed, to their students, so that they may PVP without a crippling loss of isk due to the war. Older students, instructors and the like fly what they feel comfortable doing so.
Anyone wishing to support the Uni and Ivy League with donations of isk, ships, modules, etc may contact any director or our Diplomat, Kelduum Revaan. The Uni is not for profit and everything donated ends up benefiting our students, not the instructors or our wallets. Even a single donated frigate will provide a student the chance to experience PVP and catch onto the other part of Eve. Of course, for most students, they tend to become quite bloodthirsty, much to the woe of ore thieves in our home system who find stealing from the Uni a painful experience as near instant responses of 10+ ships eager to kill something are quite common.

Someone paid for it. Your a good bunch of guys, and from everything your students have said to me, fighting us is some of the best times they have had in the games. Also your pilots have one of the best attitudes when they win/lose (i suppose the free ships makes it a little easier to laugh off a loss though)

I cant say I have heard anything about this - In the last 6 months or so that I have been listed as a diplomatic contact for IVY, I have been involved with a single player dispute, which turned out to be a simple misunderstanding.
IVY does of course contain another two corps, both somewhat autonomous, and I think its safe to say they have rather strict recruitment policies for just this reason.
Whoever the member or members you are refering to are, please do contact a me or another IVY Director - we cant do anything about suspected alts making trouble if nobody lets us know! _____

We make it off the loot of those who war-dec us. :)
Seriously, the occasional war-dec is great for instruction (as long as it's occasional). Speaking only for my corp, we would be happy for a week of wardeccing so we can give some Empire PvP training.

I seriously miss my uni days sometimes (doubt anyone there still remembers me but meh ). If your idea of a fun time playing eve is getting griefed into a station by 50 bloodthirsty noobs in ew frigates until you log, wardec Ivy league .
To be fair however, it was really the orignal wardecs and korsiki defense gangs that sparked my interest in pvp in the first place (and I do quite a bit of it these days ), so I cant say that the occasional wardec is nessecarily a bad thing.
Either way, GL guys.

The last war really was too short. I hope this one doesn't get retraced so quickly, in fact I'm rooting for it to last two weeks so I can bust out an intie.
So there's no confusion, the Uni doesn't run around replacing everything that is lost, they provide what Kelduum says they provide and I personally haven't partaken as I have too much isk to quibble over the crappy ships I'm fit to fly in PVP. If you see students with a good attitude after a loss, it's because they are having fun
Respect to Skunk, our late night op that you scored heavy blows against last time around was a good lesson on how *not* to engage and definitely how not to engage a nos-domi ;) Despite his whooping our asses he gave mods back and our crippled gang made its way back home. Hope to see you again (and to be in the winning gang this time).

If you see any IVY ships in engagements they shouldnt be in, please contact our diplomats or any director. This includes suspected supply trips in 0.0 wars not concerning IVY etc.
However, IVY fleets will proactively engage any war targets in any space, negative standings in 0.0, and negative standings in low-sec at the pilot's discretion, as well as react to aggression. Negative standings are earned by repeatedly attacking IVY ships, ore-thieving from IVY cans, or declaring war on IVY.

So, what a player does on their main should translate into a problemw with Ivy, even if Ivy had nothing to do with it? And the method to deal with this isn't to contact well established directors, but instead to hire someone else to wardec us?
What you're advocating is as cowardly as the Privateers.

The ISD news post you link to - which incidentaly might be worth peeps having a look at as the ISD interviewer asks some pertinant questions which i often hear in these very forums - clearly states we retracted the war dec from you as Surrep was asked to leave the Ivy League alone during their birthday week so as not to ruin the celebration. Which we did happily. Even evil alliances should be left alone on their birthday.
However, unless you are the queen of england, it cannot be your birthday now.
I personally welcome the chance to take a shot at this alliance, which so shamefully harnesses the noobs, subjegating them to the whimsy of so called 'professors' who are growing fat on the proceeds of forced mining operations. The noobs must be released from their chains of bondage, and though i will destroy the noobs ships with some regret, I will relish the popping of the professor-jailers flimsy show off ships (HACs and the like). Shut your books and dust off your combat ships you crusty old buggers. Come fight...... if you can remember how.

Tonights very long op, showed what kind of force even new inexperienced players can put together when there is good leadership and a lot of motivation. I was very proud of my squad and the fleet, and I while I am saddened by the lack of targets, I am also thankful we had a sort of "dry run" to iron out the kinks of handling such a large fleet, and I do thank Privateers for giving our new students a chance to learn a part of what EVE is all about. Had alot of fun. We just really need some suicidal Privateers to show up.

My balls were most blue. I will say you made your best efforts to pick weak-minded padawans from the safety of the all-consuming deathswarm of noobosity, but thankfully excepting one lost straggler and a little case of mistaken identity (resulting in some sort of Ken/Ryu police maneuver on a certain pilot) we survived.
I could see the jedi hand waving -- "You want to tackle me...130 km is a fine distance."
Really short of a suicidal pilot or a fairly solid counter-blob we would have been a silly target, can't blame you for not engaging. Here's hoping it gets interesting

Edited by: Remedios Sonrisa on 04/04/2007 13:49:05 Dear Mr. French Skunk,
What we do with the n00bs is not for you to decide. They chose their enslavement. They now have been thoroughly brainwashed so that even if you were to "liberate" them from their mining, gopher, and other serf-like duties, it is guaranteed that they will crawl back to the forced labor ca...er, Univesity, and ask for more menial chores. Working them to near death is what makes them bloodthirsty so that when there is a war, you see the wandering blobs that seek retribution from external sources. If we weren't an "evil" alliance, then you would not have such memorable PvP experiences vs. us! ....

Remember boys and girls. This is just a game! A very engrossing and complicated one, but something we all do to have some fun and excitement. Apart from the isk traders on ebay, most of us use our isk to fund our fun, and what better way than replacing clones, ships and mods after an adrenaline fuled few minutes of pew pew?
I can't stand mining, i've bored myself of missions. I've been in 0.0 and flirted with the politics of alliances and soverignity and 7mil ISK bounties. Nothing in eve has given me the enjoyment of The Privateers Alliance! It seems many in Ivy agree and we'll happily and cordially enjoy this game together as opponents.
The bigger alliances, leading noobs away from the true path, laying claim to and putting up barriers in this galaxy we 'play' in will always be a prime target. Keep eve for everyone, not just to provide some 2003 char, with Small Civilian Tackle and a Capital Ego II a Mothership to fly around in as compensation!
