I ask this because I, for one -- do not know.
NC./PL/Horde have been fighting a war against CO2/TEST in Tribute on the basis that Horde needed more valuable sov space.
During the Alliance Tournament, PL didn't get too involved, so NC. wouldn't bring out their big guns and CO2/TEST held the space against the attackers.
Following the end of the AT. PL have become involved, resulting in the inevitable loss for CO2.
The Tribute War is effectively over, however there is an issue of a CO2 owned Keepstar in M-OEE8 that needs to be destroyed. That will officially mark the end of the aggression and Horde are now not taking the space.
The war has been as much played out in the meta as it has in game and on that measure, TEST won hands down. In game, NC./PL/Horde are the victors.
In relation to the Keepstar that will be destroyed if the server doesn't crash. It's the first fully operational Keepstar in the game to be destroyed.
There was a previous Keepstar that was killed before being fully fit and operational and the size of the fight was so large, the killmail server had a melt down and no killmail was officially generated. So there is a lot of interest in this fight for a few reasons.

Aren't these corps/alliances currently neutral or just have bad standings with one another? Is the War Dec' mechanic in null sec not working properly?
If this keepstar is destroyed who declares sovereignty or victory of this system/sector?
I really don't see anything in-game related to the wars in null. Is this more out of game drama that takes place? |

People fight in null over something that someone said in local about his mum.
Sov and space is not then main reason that these fights happen, but more about how much butt hurt someone is. |

They are fighting over space, SOV that test own is wanted because it has better logistics routes from jita for horde and its new members. or something like that...

This war was theoretically because Horde wanted more valuable space for its members to earn ISK in.
It was very much about the sov space.
Also because Alliances that are sitting around not doing much, don't give much for their members to do. So wars generate reasons for members to login and they keep the Alliance ticking over. This was also part of the reason for the war.
In the end, following the recent jump range adjustments, Horde have announced they aren't moving into the space, so it'll be interesting to see what happens in Trbute over the next couple of months.

It's easy to look around since the grid size is so big now.

I really don't see anything in-game related to the wars in null. Is this more out of game drama that takes place? Alliegences can change quickly sometimes. During World War Bee earlier in the year NC./PL/Horde were allied with CO2 after CO2 left The Imperium and effectively defected to the other side (sort of).
However the Money Badger Coalition that fought against The Imperium wasn't a normal coalition of lots of blues. It was a group mainly made up of Alliances that usually shoot each other. They just had a common enemy and access to ISK that provided motivation to work together temporarily.
So not really neutral with one another under normal circumstances.
Wars in null don't require use of the wardec mechanics. Those are largely just mechanics that turn off CONCORD, so are only needed for highsec. In nullsec, wars are more like wars as we traditionally think of them. Usually conflict starts and escalates, or someone (as in this situation) declares openly that they are going to take something from someone else.
As for the Keepstar, it's more a symbol than anything else. Citadels are not sov structures and NC. Has already taken the sov in M-OEE8:
http://evemaps.dotlan.net/system/M-OEE8
So the Keepstar needs to be killed so not the leave CO2 with a powerful staging point in space they no longer own and because as owners of the space NC. really can't just leave it there.

Sounds like a mission for a Nemesis, Pilgrim, Rapier or I could use the Ares but it has a prototype cloak, just my luck get run over by something big and mean. Maybe do some awesome video capture, usually in a fight I forget to activate FRAPS. Thanks for the info, Saturday looks like fun, watching other people get killed for a change.
Forum Rep for a bunch of characters, couple corps

Im tired of people prentending tidi is OK its not, so what you can sill send commands to server thats completely useless when you are waiting 30 mins for it to happen and the realise actually youre already dead. Its terrible and unplayable and CCP did it to quiet people down when there was a massive player revolt about it. In truth it solved nothing because large fleet battles are utterley impossible! These should be epic battles but they are the most painful unfun things in eve
I'll take Ti-Di over the permanent black screen while your ships is killed while you try to jump into a fight.
What opposed to what? A space background do that doesn't move!! It's NO different to lag full stop. Jesus. And yes I did witness pretty tidi a lot and it's just a ls terrible. |

It is nowhere near as bad as it was before. The slaughter of 6NJ happened because the entire NC fleet could not load into the system, that doesn't happen anymore. |

Here is a suggestion: How about you just don't participate in large scale warfare?
Personally, I don't see how big alliance battles could possibly be fun with Tidi.
