Trebor Locke Gallente Round Table Enterprises	Posted - 2007.04.07 06:08:00 - [1] I know how to set up a POS and that this will require the proper charters so that the POS can be run in empire however, how can I ensure the safety of the POS? Regarding safety, well atm unless it changed in the 1.41 patch, empire POS are still currently protected by Concord. This applies even when war dec'd. This has had much debate in other threads in these very forums, so you may want to have a look down the page a bit. Opinion seems split (strangely) between POS owners who think this is a good thing, and those that would like to be able to attack them who disagree. I have an empire POS and think the time and effort i put in to getting the required standing, and the paying of charters for that faction entitle me to a modicum of protection, although i am not convinced either way atm, that full concord protection is the answer. As it is in empire, hence no capital ships, it will take a large BS gang to even attempt to attack an empire POS currently. So unless you make a nuisance of yourself, or upset ppl in high places, then you will be fine. p.s. Concord defending your POS is apparently a bug, albeit semi permanent atm, but i expect this will be rectified in the future, so dont go leaving expensive BPO's there. If you are going to be researching/inventing (about the only usefull activity in empire) then leave them in the station and do all research remotely. -s-
Suittam Gallente Enigma Technologies	Posted - 2007.04.07 09:51:00 - [5] Oh, sorry, regarding the Faction standing. You only need this to anchor the tower and modules. If the standing falls after this, it makes no difference to the running of your POS, aslong as you dont unanchor anything, as you wont be able to re-anchor again. Hope this helps. -s-

How would you setup the weapons platforms? Is there some kind of 'shoot only war targets' mode? And if you do setup your weapon platforms to shoot anything that comes in range, does that get you in trouble? With standings, concord or otherwise?

You get a reduced number of aggression options on a tower when it is in empire space. The only options you're given is to attack war targets and to attack on aggression - because those are the two situations where you are allowed to fire without CONCORD intervention anyway. ------- There is no magic Wand of Fixing, and it is not powered by forum whines.
