So then whats order of the day for cyclones nowadays?
One thing to bare in mind while answering, yes i know the hurricane is pwnage (i <3 mine) but i got a cylone around gathering dust that i think i will be using while training for a claymore so in any fittings 1 high slot should be left for a gang mod.
The nature of my corps work would put me in 2 situations 1 would be sitting in a battleship fleet as a support ship providing a gang bonus and anti tackling, the other would involve small scale skirmish gangs!
i was thinking for the Fleet fitting...
highs: x5 t2 720 artys x2 heavy launchers x1 Gang mod
mids : x2 sensor boosters x2 tracking computers x1 20km disrupt
lows : x1 t2 medium rep x1 1600 plate x1 DCU t2 x1 Gyrostab OR RCU if all the above dosent fit =)
And for the small scale gang god knows =P ive never sheild tanked in my life ^^
Ooook right thats me done, what can you come up with ?

I've not flown one for a while (quite a while before rev), but a favourite setup of mine was 5x 220mm IIs, 3 medium nos, mwd, web/scram, guess the rest :D.
Wasnt great solo vs gangs but was capable of taking on a few solo hacs etc.. and it rocked when you took a few of them out with inties, and dropped the web/scram for ecm :).

\o .. This setup works quite well, although it ignores the racial bonus to shield boosting, you dont need cap to run much c'ept the hardeners and gang mod. That gives you so much to use for the MWD. I'm also assuming in a small gang you will have someone tackling too.
2* HAM T2 / 2* Medium Nos T2
5* Dual 180 T2
1* Skirmish Warfare Link

1* 10mn MWD T2
2* Large Extender T2
1* EM Active T2
1* Thermal Active T2
-=-
1* Damage Control T2
3* Power Diag T2
This gives you 12K shield, 60 EM 65 EXP 47.5 KIN 68 Thrm (Weak on kin, but it survives.)

Does it have any uses if fitted with only t1/cheap named? I want a few cheap and expendible battlecruisers fitted for tight situations where you need a ship to hop in to and just go for it.

Yeah of course.. you can strap bigger guns to it too if your going for a T1 fit.
But T2 guns are quite cheap now and the dmg increase is nice.

Nice gang set-up. Wouldn't expect anything less from Veto  . Here's an OK solo set-up:
5x d180s, 3x med nos
1x 10mn MWD, 1x 20km scram, 1x Large Shield Booster, 1x LSE, 1x invul
2x PDU, 2x gyro
Lows are just my best guess, dont have a Cyclone handy.
