I'm getting a black login screen in Vista Ultimate x64 ...
I run eve.exe with full admin rights, all account security options I can think of are disabled, and I checked full control on the eve installation folder.
So I'd appreciate it if anyone could tell me how to run the game : )
Many thanks in advance.

I have the same problem with my Vista Ultimate x64. Its running on a AMD64 4000+ with 1GB memory. nVidia 7800GT on a MSI K8Neo4 NForce4 Mainboard.
Cheers!

*EDIT* Running with the latest drivers, as usual

I am running fine with Vista Ultimate 64 and a nvidia 8800 the black screen sounds like your local resolution or colors are set to lower than Eve minimums.

Im running on 32Bits on my desktop. Tried setting it to 16 Bits, turning off the flashy theme and disabling some eye candy also. But the black screen just sits there and plays the background music.. taunting me.. damn you eve!

Aaaaah yes.. Told you I would get you EVE. So problem solved, after massive forum searching and scouting AND googling. I found out that the eve client cannot find the fonts in Vista. For some odd reason, but anyhow i found it in eve-search and dont have the link. So i'll re-post (retype) it.
- Open a terminal - Enter "regedit", press Enter, a new window is showing up - Navigate to "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders" - Create a new String - Name the new String "Fonts" and give it the value "C:\windows\fonts" (case sensitive) - You are done and the login screen should show up now
Works like a dream now.
Now over to nvidia and begging them for new platform drivers then.. bah..

PS. Who ever your are, that wrote the solution. THANK YOU!

I looked in regedit just out of interest and my Premium x32 Vista install already has the suggested entry. Which begs the question why some people have the entry by default and some don't. A Vista install bug? And why does it only affect Eve?
