So if I am thinking about getting a 2nd account, and already have a Raven set up to run lvl4 missions, what would be a good compliment character to this? As in skills, ship etc. EW platform?

Fit another battleship with shield transfer mods, and some ew to help you tank.
I have a friend using 2 ravens, one shoots and tanks, the other shoots and shield transfers to the tank.
It works really well

Leadership skills then battle cruisers. Not to help fight but to provide support for your main. I usually leave my alt flying around the system in a shuttle while my main fights. -- (Battle hardened industrialist)

I have two accounts, and instead of posting a rant about how useful it is, i'll just say this:
Starting a second account was the single best idea I have ever had (in relation to Eve). Everything is easier.

I run lvl 4's in my Raven and have my alt in an Apoc. The Raven tanks and kills cruisers and above while the Apoc shield boosts and pops frigs. The Apoc is fitted with 7 TII small beams and a large shield booster, along with a webber, cap relays, tracking comp, cap recharger and some damage mods. Works like a charm. Personally I like the looks of the Apoc and whilst everyone says the Apoc isn't that great of a ship, it's got real nice cap on it and IMO fits the support role well. I was using a Geddon but with the small guns no geddon bonuses come into play and the Apoc has huge cap and atm little over 300sec recharge rate. Now to throw some CCC rigs on it and drop the recharge rate even further

I run level 4's in a Dominix and use my alt to salvage and collect loot in a fast hauler. Cuts my overall mission times in half.

Edited by: Marquis Dean on 07/04/2007 21:10:58 Setups i've used for Lvl4 missioning, in rough chronologic order as my skills and funds have increased:
Scorpion (damage, tank) & Arbitrator (target painting and anti-frig).
Scorpion (remote rep, jamming) & Geddon (damage, tank)
Raven (remote rep, damage) & Geddon (damage, tank)
Raven (damage, remote rep) & Apoc (nos, extreme tank)
Raven (damage, tank) & Abaddon (damage, extreme tank)
Rattlesnake (damage, unbelievable tank) & Abaddon (damage, anti-frig, tank)
Rattlesnake (damage, unbelievable tank) & Myrmidon (damage supplement, web/painter/remote sensor booster, anti-frig, repair bots)
Rattlesnake (damage, unbelievable tank) & Pilgrim (damage supplement, web/painter/remote sensor booster, anti-frig, repair bots)
Megathron (damage, tank) & Myrm (damage supplement, web/painter/remote sensor booster, anti-frig, repair bots)
(Pilgrim is because I bought it for PvP and the Myrm is boring sometimes).
You could call any of those pairings overkill, but I play Eve to have fun!

I would suggest a geddon/apoc/baddon as your support ship, since they have a lot of cap and you can just fire up some shield/cap boosters and not have to look after the alt. _________________ [SAK] Alumnus--And Proud Of It! -- aka Cpt Bogus Is that my torped sig cloaking your base?

I would head for command ships. Make it a mean lean gang-module and tanking machine. --------

you could go a lot of ways..
support battleship with shield transfer to help your main tank
logistics ship to shield/cap transfer from 50km away
command ship for passive bonuses
.. and the list goes on... (I personally use mine to follow me and loot all the cans as i cba to do that in a slowass raven :P ) -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Xaroth Brook [Datacore - Quantum Physics] x 40 |

No mention of support cruisers? I figure they'd be better with their repping bonuses even compared to large shield/armor transfers, though I could be wrong...

as i said, logistics ship.. a bassilisk can run a dual-large-shield-transfer permanently if you fit it with CR II's... heck you might even be able to run a few cap transfers on it at the same time to keep your tank even more imba. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Xaroth Brook [Datacore - Quantum Physics] x 40 |

Drake + NH = win
NH + NH = win squared
My 2nd char will soon be flying this beast as well and L4's are dead easy, looking forward to L5's.

In part, it depends on how you are set up on computers.
I run a Raven and a logistics ship. Nice part of that is that after the Raven gets all the aggro, the logistics ship can just orbit the Raven and I really don't have to switch clients till everything is dead.
If you are running two computers / two monitors, then 2 BS's would certainly be faster.

That is true. You can't alt+tab between windows really, it's exceptionally irritating. I have a comp with 2 monitors and 2 graphics cards, it's much easier that way. 2 comps would work too.

Actually, I remember a setup I use with a friend to run 5/10 complexes...a domi with 2 large remote shield reppers and 2 large energy transfers, plus 5 heavy shield maintenance drones. Just load the domi with cap modules and you should be able to permanently run any two of the transfers or remote reppers.
