Ok, we have been wardecced by our friends the privateers again.
their tactics amount to hugging a station and try to gank anyone who warps to that station or undocks. If they meet resistance they simply dock and wait until the stronger party gets bored or undock again with a ship/fitting designed to counter the attackers.
I tried bumping them with an alt to get at least a frig outside the docking range but they responded by placing the frig in between the structures of the station so that wasn't possible.
My questions are now these: I) If our heroes agro somebody are they all denied entry to the station, or just the first that opens up (that would explain the frig that's with them all the time) II) If they are denied entry then for how long? This would give us an indication of the force needed to kill at least one of their ships. III) How large is the docking range and is it uniform for all stations?

I) The ones who aggro can't dock until they deagress and then they have to wait 1 minute, the person they aggro can dock whenever they can unless they aggro back
II) 1 minute
III) Depends on the station

Best weapons against dock/undock games were nano-bs. Maybe we need a new tech-2 ship with this role. E.g. a speedy agile battleship without weapons, but a big rubberball on its head. ___________ Muuuhhh !!! |

This means that all ships that fire (regardless of who starts) are denied entry until they stop firing and then wait for 1 minute. So firing back at a target is also grounds for not being allowed to dock.
Also docking again after undock takes 20 s i think just as changing ship after docking

Bumping? I don't get it if they shoot first they have agro right? Or did they prevent warp by bumping with a neutral?

1 engages the other bumps... you jump, the bumper follows you through. Bit sad when you get to 3km and a T2 BC comes hurtling at you.
Unfortunatly I'd comitted to trying to get to the gate instead of shooting them back... being popped 500m from salvation is a real morale killer, especially when you'd have made it if the first one hadn't been bumping you.
Atleast I took his webber drones with me... ___________

Just give us station windows and once undocking you get pushed well out of docking range.

I find it funny that there literally must be 20+ threads (if not more) now dealing not just with the Privateers but their station ganking tactics. Yet, the majority of thread posters and those who reply in them act like lemmings. They know about this tactic and yet they continue to enter those systems and dock at the stations anyway. _____________________________________________________________________ "My once immaculate white pants are now stained from the weak and innocent. Good you do... Seeing I just had a Mining barge shot out from under me by them I'm not too thrilled with them. Look I may be in the NOOB corp, but thats because I have no reason or way to PVP right now. So I stay out of the War decing, not because I want to, because mining in Empire is not very profitable for me. The first time I go out to 0.4 space and I get a ship shot out from a Privateer. Not what I was expecting, and granted I can replace it. But it means back to Empire, fighting with the macro miners for Omber so I can refine it, then try again, in a week, if I'm lucky.

When you jumped into 0.4 there was a warning dialog box that popped up. I suggest that you take a look at it next time. Makes for gripping reading.

Yeah that might work.... You do that...
I'm kidding of course. That will not fix anything. It's just now I get to race to the belts to get them before they have been mined out of everything by three ships controlled by one guy.
Granted if I'm wrong, let me know, offer me a place in your corp or just talk to me. And I don't care if I get shot at, just please tell me your shooting at me first and if I miss it so be it. Like I said it's replaceable.

So does the fact I can replace everything. It's just going to be a while. I know this is venting, but everyone else does it, why can't I?

Follow the leader to his death ftl maybe? But seriously.. If you went *unescorted* to a .4 in a barge you deserve to be reduced to elemental particals.. They don't call it "low sec" for no reason ya know.. Next time try caldari cruiser 4 and an osprey for you low sec mining pleasure.. Mines better than an entry level retreiver and is cheap as dirt to boot..

I'm sorry, but you can't be telling the truth here. We all know the Privateers would never set foot in low-sec due to being too scared, so it must have been someone else that shot you.
I mean, if you where really shot by a Privateer, that would mean that all the forum carebears where wrong about them, and that simply couldn't be.

I got one of those, but it's the cost of the strip miner that makes me go nuts.
Also, yes as strange as it sounds there are Privateers in 0.4 space. I guess I was the only one he got, everyone else was in a battleship or fitted with a STAB.

Funny you may think dear boy... funny it is NOT.. lets face it, the tactics employed by the "Station Gankers" exploit game mechanics, frequently rendering any response by the targeted player ineffective, or even impossible. NO .. I'm not against removing WarDeccing, or changing any of the major play factors... but for crimeny's sake.... getting smoked when trying to get out of a station located in a 1.0 system is just absurd.
Personally I'd like to see aggro within "X" distance of a High Sec station not allowed or at least carry a heavy penalty. The gank Muppets in Space could still have their group orgasm on how l33t and Ebil they are .. but at least we'd have a chance to get the heck out of there if we were fairly quick on the button.
But in any event something has to be addressed here, they are causing far to much grief for the benefit they provide.. (little or none imo), frustration is rising when you can't get a chance to get away, and don't give me the fooey about "don't GO there then. WTF is wrong with you??" We know that frequently the stations they camp are the ONLY stations in that region that carry the items you need... so that argument holds back water like a screen door on a submarine..
