Ok a bit melodramatic discussion for me but anyway:
As much as I recognise corp theft as an aspect of the game I find it vile and disgusting and always an abuse of trust. So I have to side with GunnyP.....
BUT (I love buts ) what I find rather disturbing is the fact that they're treating this like a theft of RL money...I know ISK has a value and is sold (on Ebay among places) and that is what disturbs me, when ppl take a GAME on whole new level, c'mon you got screwed but in a game, just think about the pathetic soul which felt the need to steal something that's stored on a harddrive in London.
What shocked me even more is the apparent greed that TTI was originally founded on (Ferengi eat that...) and nutured by its director Ragnar who didn't even have the decency to give them cash to keep his TTI baby alive but LOANED them it....this philosophy is erm....disturbing and intriguing (trying to find that book, "Atlas Shrugged" isn't it?, I want to understand their mindset a bit better).
All in all if we flesh out the drama of all this, we've got an ex-corpmember (Anla Shok) with access to the corp still, he admittently grants someone access to the corps assets becoming knowingly accessory to a crime (ie. corp theft)
He then gets advice from an Polaris volunteer to cover his tracks.....
All in all I would have just shrugged this all of as another mundane large scale corp theft, but the Polaris issue, whoa..... then this individual feels the need to use his alt to boast about his prior knowledge of the act, most uncool.
I don't care if Cairnz/Dagny stole the ISK or gave Anla advice about covering his tracks, his actions have been disrespectful and quite frankly he should be stripped of his Polaris commission or should at least find the dignity inside his heart to step down. The Stigma which follows corp theft in EVE has a long halflife
I mean, when a member of an organization which is supposed to help players is accused of helping in an action which most players dispise....that's just to much, that person then doesn't have what it takes to handle such responsibility.
The real issue here isn't the ISK or TTI or betrayal of an old friend...its about misuse of knowledge and power (although Polaris hasn't that much power they are still CCP officials and must act that way).
oh boy that is a long rant...
