+1 Windows 10.
From what Midha La said earlier, I'm not sure I feel safe logging in at the moment.
Any word, CCP? |

Gave my launcher shortcut the -d and it all worked. -Win 10
Short and sweet version to fix. * Right click the shortcut for eve launcher on your desktop * Add -d to the end of the shortcut * Run it. * Undo the shortcut and profit. |

Win7 64bit - same issue as everyone else.
Did the "add new shortcut to desktop for evelauncher.exe -> Right click on this new shortcut and selected properties -> In the location\Launcher\evelauncher.exe field added -d to the end -> With the basic launcher open, I was able to open the normal eve launcher shortcut from desktop.
Closed and reopened the normal launcher several times without issue. |

It's not a hosting issue, it's a local permissions issue (at least for me it was).
I chose a different install location for a recently downloaded launcher than the default C:\EVE, and got the same error message.
I wiped that folder and reinstalled the launcher to the suggested location, and it ran fine.
Windows permissions do have a tendency of causing weird issues like that... see if your problem goes away if you install the launcher in a 'free' location (not inside Program Files or Desktop or any user folders)

After trying to run the various other executables people mentioned, I just ran the launcher over and over for a bit and eventually it caught, did its update, and everything was fine. |

Same problem. Just ran game repeatedly until the launcher stayed open long enough for me to hit cancel. Jeez, what a mess. |

Just had this problem as well, but the loglite.exe appears to have fixed it.
Trying out all the things to do here in Eve - it's quite a checklist.
So I made a blog Jakob's Eve Checklist

MacOS Sierra 10.12
When I show package contents on the launcher in the applications folder I don't see an updater anywhere. I do see the launcher under Contents->MacOS but I don't see anything else in that folder.
Anyone able to help? |

I've taken all the advice from this thread and I also still have this problem. Used Loglite, updater, permissions, and the shortcut thing. No progress here. |

Chrome is giving me the error too, if I plug in the domain from the launcher's error message:
"This server could not prove that it is creatives.extccp.com; its security certificate is from *.dental-directory.co.uk"

They broke the launcher so it can't update itself.
Delete everything from the game directory but the sharedcache folder (which actually has all the real game data), download the launcher from the website, and reinstall. It will ask about taking over the old cache, do that so it doesn't install another copy. Takes a few seconds to install and runs fine after that, no other tricks needed. |

Working as intended I'm sure. Did everything in the thread and it's still jacked up more than a roach on bennies. CCP just a bit of feedback on this might be nice, instead of sitting on your laurels and laughing. |

Opening the launcher 2 times is working for me.
The first time I open it up, I get the error message, then without clicking that message I run the launcher again, it opens up white in the background. Then I click cancel on the error message and the launcher refreshes and I can run the client.
and also, Is CCP not even acknowledging that there is a problem o.O!? |

In an effort to help open lines of communication surrounding this issue, I had sent a support ticket to CCP back when I originally posted. Here was the response:
Quote:Hello, Capsuleer. GM Shin is here to help you.
We are aware that some players are encountering a problem relating to an invalid certificate. The developers have been informed and are actively looking into resolving this matter. Hopefully it will not take too long. We sincere apologize for any inconvenience it is causing and appreciate your patience.
Thanks.
Best Regards, GM Shin CCP Customer Support | EVE Online | EVE Valkyrie
I hope this gives some of you some comfort in knowing that they do recognize the issue, even if they haven't seemed to fix it completely. Personally, I have been able to log in with no more issues after waiting a number of hours. I did not do any of those fixes as suggested by other players out of concern that this could have been a security issue.
I wish you all good luck and hope that this helps in some way or another. I'll check back later and post any more correspondence I receive regarding this, if any.

Just wanted to put it out there, as of this morning, not getting any problems with my launcher. Not sure if all I needed to do was restart my computer after following the given fixes, or if CCP worked it out, but all's good for me. |
