You know, while I really do wish you luck in getting her to accept your terms, reading through the older thread, I have to admit that she's right about one salient point: by the traditional rules of duelling etiquette, the challenger calls for the duel, and the challenged party gets their choice of weapons.
Perhaps you should encourage the next person she challenges to choose 'battle raps'? She would, after all, be honor-bound to accept that choice. |

I admit, I so very much thought that was going to be Diana saying 'And this is why Jason Galente must be destroyed.' |

Consider your own statement there: you had to do a bit of traveling to duel her. How far?
She won't go 18j to duel Mokk. I'm quite certain if she suggested they meed in X-70, only a few jumps from him and controlled by neutral parties so she can come in with a stealth bomber, dock, fit up a proper duelling ship, and meet him at a point in-system, he'd agree. |

. . . I can only applaud what has to be a very well-executed trolling. |

Well, she's not wrong that you haven't listed any consequences for losing/rewards for winning. Maybe if you did?
Like: rap battle, to be judged by 5-member panel agreed upon by the participants, loser has to reimburse the winner's ship losses for a month, or something? |

No, the first obstacle would be getting Diana to agree to those terms, rather than calling her a coward for raising a valid point. |

We place at a uniform 15, but because we don't want people to feel inadequate, we falsified our test scores to come in around 7-12, letting the Achurans take it by half a point on average.
We're just nice like that.

Only a fool underestimates the power of silence.
Here are the terms of this duel stemming from my choice of weapon: first of us to post on the IGS, or appear in a public fluid router channel, loses this duel of honor, which starts at the moment it is accepted by Diana.
IGS, you're welcome. I consider this one a public service. You won.
She hasn't accepted yet. Jason's free to keep posting. |

I'm just curious, and this is clearly not a defense of Diana, as she makes use of this kind of thing all the time herself, but... when did accepting a challenge or duel become obligatory? At what point was it suddenly mandated that someone can't just be an adult and say 'no thanks, I don't feel like it'? |

Right. Like I said: not a defense of Diana. My question is more: why are you validating her by reinforcing that position? |
